C?u N?c），为新民主主义的越南民主共和国（北越）及“越南南方民族解放阵线”（所谓越共）反抗美国及其傀儡政权越南共和国（南越）的战争。美国在本次战争中失败（虽然美国政府自称是“光荣的撤退”）。越战是冷战中的“一次热战”，希望统一越南的南方反政府军“民族解放阵线”在北越领导人胡志明的支持下，反对南越吴庭艳政府。美国则出兵帮助南越。最开始扶植南越的美国总统是Dwigh
