Priortoschool,adequatedaycareofchildrenisnecessaryfordual-earnerfamilies.Inrecentyears,manyprivatecompaniesandhome-baseddaycarecentershavesprunguptofulfillthisneed. 

Increasingly,companiesaregettinginvolvedinthearrangementofdaycare.Governmentsareprovidingassistancetoparentsthatrequiredaycareaswell.

Accordingtothestudy,Australianfathersappeartolikethefunaspectsofparenthood,butshyawayfromtheboringhousework.Sowhiletheytendtobehappytakingthekidstotheparkortosportingevents,theyareunlikelytoparticipateregularlyinfeeding,bathing,ortakingthekidstoschool. 

Inshort,Australianparentingisseenasawoman'sjobandaman'shobby.

Manypeoplebelievethatthelast20yearshaveseenthearrivaloftheso-called"newman"—themanwhoiswillingtosharethehouseworkandchildcare.
