MyfavouritesceneinthebookiswheneveryonethinksTomisdead.Hedecidestogotohisownfuneral.Hehidesandwatchesforatime,andthensuddenlyheappears.Everyoneissurprisedtoseehimbutthey’realsopleasedtoseehimalive.

Tomistheheroofthestory,butthereareotherimportantcharacters.Huckisanoutsiderandeveryoneisafraidofhim.Beckyisprettywithfairhair,JoeisTom’sbestfriend,andInjunJoeisthebadmanofthestory.

Thethemesofthestoryaretodowithchildrengrowingupandbecomingmoreserious.ItdescribeshowstrangersareseeninsmalltownsofAmerica.Finally,ittalksaboutfreedom,socialrulesandhowpeoplearepunishedforbadbehaviour.

MarkTwainwrotethestoryin1876,butit’sstillreadandlovedbypeopleallovertheworldtoday.Andalthoughit’sonlyastory,TwainwroteitintheeverydayEnglishofthesouthernstatesofAmericainthe19thcentury,soitsoundsveryreal.Todayit’sthoughttobeoneofthegreatestbooksinAmericanliterature.Goon---readit!
