Goalsurroundingsmeansapersonisproactiveindealingwithchallengesthatmayaffecthisplans.Beingproactivemeansoneisabletooutlinepossibledifficultiesthatmayoccuraswellasthesolutionstothesedifficulties.Bydoingthis,apersonisnoteasilyscaredordefeatedwhenchallengesoccurbecausehehasalreadypreparedforthem.Heknowstheycanhappenandhehaspreparedasolutionorstrategywhenthattimees.

Inthepastthegenerationgapincludedatechnologygap,wherechildrenwereuptodatewithlatesttechnologyandparentswereleftbehind,contenttocontinuetheirdaytodaylivesastheyalwayshadbecausetheyhadnoneedtoknowmoreabouttechnology.However,moreandmoreparentsarebeginningtorealizejusthowimportantsocialnetworksareintheirlives.Thisrealizationhasgivenmanyparentsthemotivationtoeducationthemselvesaboutsocialnetworkingsites.

Thesedaysmanypeopleareattractedtosocialnetworkingsitesbecausetheycanchoosewhotheyhavearoundthem;there’salsoacertainamountofcontroloverprivacythatwedon’tgetinreallife.Sometimeswefeelthatprivacyisviolatedwhenwemustaccepta“friend”requestfromaparentorfamilymember.

It’sadifficultchoicewhetherornottoallowaparenttobeeapartofouronlinelives.Ontheonehandwedon’twantto“reject”theirrequestbecausethatmighthurttheirfeelingsormakethemfeelyouhavesomethingtohide.Ontheotherhandifyoudoaccept,thenyoucouldhaveasenseofbeingwatchedandnolongerfeelfreetomentormunicatethewayyoudidbefore.
