IrememberthedayIfirstmetJackinachatroom.I'mnotexactlysurehowwegottotalkingbutwedid,andafterthattherewasnostoppingus.OnethingthatperkedhisinterestconsiderablywasmymentionthatmyfavoriteauthorwasJohnDurante.

WetalkedaboutJohnDuranteforanhourandtherewasalottotalkaboutasJohnwasasortof"unconventional"writerwhobyhisverynatureinviteddiscussion.Hisbookswereclassified"youngadult"butbothJackandIagreedthatapersonofanyagecouldreadthem.Also,webothlikedtheunhappyendingsthatwerepresentinmanyofthebooks.AsJacksaid,itwasjustmorerealisticthatway.Thegoodguydidn'talwayswin.IaddedthatJohnwasbravetobesuchanon-conformist.ForsomereasonJackfoundthisamusing.

writing,books,publishers,theunreliabilityoffreee-mailservices,andtheweather.Intheend,whenmymothertoldmetologoffandgettobed,weexchangede-mailaddresses.

Thee-mailscontinuedforaboutsixmonthsafterthat.JackandIhadalotincommon:
