TwoAmericankindergartenteachers,MildredHillandhersisterPattyHillwrotethesong.In1893,Mildred,whostudiedmusic,cameupwiththemelodyandPattyaddedsomelyrictoitandthesongbecame“GoodMorningtoAll〞,whichtheysangeverymorningtotheirstudents.Andthelyricsranlikethis:

Laterthetitleofthesongwasknownas“GoodMorningtoYou〞whenitwasusedforchildrentosingtotheirteacher.Andthethirdandfourthlinesbecame“Goodmorning,dearteacher.Goodmorningtoyou.〞
