Inourcommunitieswehavemanyexcellentschoolsofalltypes.Wealsohavemanyprogramsandoptionsinplacethatparentsofallbackgroundscanaccess.Iamproudtohavesupportedschool—choicelaw,includingtheStudentScholarshipsforEducationalExcellencePrograminNewOrleansin2008,theprecursor oftheLouisianaScholarshipProgram.

Whilecharterschoolsandtraditionaldirect—runschoolsaretheonesmostoftendiscussed,theLouisianaScholarshipProgramprovidesparentsanevengreateroption.Suchaprogramprovidesaneducationalchoiceforparentstheymightnototherwisebeabletomake,providingtheopportunityforabrighterfuturefortheirchildren.

Whiletherearemanyreasonsandfactorsthatgointoaparent'seducationaldecision,theimportantthingisthatparentsarenotlimitedtothechoiceswhichtheyareabletomakesoasnottolimitthelevelofsuccesstheirchildrencanmeet.
