1.General
1.1SubjectMatterandApplicationRange
1.1.1InthisProceduretheperiodandcontentofthemaintenance,maintenanceandqualitystandard,testingandacceptanee,serviceandtroubleshootingofgeneral-purposevalvesaredefinedordescribed.
1.1.2ThisProcedureisapplicabletosuchgatevalves,stopvalves,ballvalves,butterflyvalves,checkvaluesandsafetyvalvesthatareusedinthePetrochemicalindustrywiththemax.workingpressurebeing98.1MPa(gaugepressure)andtheworkingtemperaturerangingfrom-196to+850C.

2.PeriodandContentofMaintenance
2.1MaintenancePeriod
Themaintenanceperiodofvalvesshallbedeterminedbyallenterprisesthemselvesinaccordaneewiththefeaturesoftheproductionplant,performancesofthemedium,corrosionspeedandoperatingcycle.
2.2MaintenanceContent
2.2.1Cleanandcheckthevalvebodyandpartialvalveparts.
2.2.2Replaceorrepairpartialvalveparts.
2.2.3Lapthesealsurface.
2.2.4Repairthesurfacesofthespacerflangeandendflange.
2.2.5Replaceoraddthepacking,replacethegasket.
3.MaintenanceandQualityStandard
3.1PreparatoryWorkforMaintenance.
3.1.1Getreadyallrelatedtechnicaldocuments.
3.1.2Getreadyallnecessarymachinesandtools,measuringtoolsandmaterials.
3.1.3Thoroughlyremovethevalvemediumaspertherelatedregulationsonsafety.
3.2GeneralRequirements.
3.2.1Thereshallbealabelhungonthevalve,indicatingthemaintenanceno.workingpressure,workingtemperatureandmedium.
3.2.2Forremovedpartswhichhavespecialrequirementsforthedirectionandposition,suchdirectionandlocationshallbecheckedforcorrectnessormarkedout.
3.2.3Cleanallthevalveparts,removingallcontaminantsfromthem.
3.2.4Replaceallthenon-metallicsealsurfacesthataredamaged.
3.2.5Forcorrectselectionanduseofthematerialsforabrasivetoolsandabrasivematerials,refertoAppendicesA(ForReferenee),B(ForReferenee)andC(ForReferenee)respectively.
3.2.6Forboltsandgasketstheworkingtemperatureofwhichisabove250C,appropriateanti-seizureagentshallbeappliedonthem.
3.2.7Coppergasketsshallbeannealedbeforeinstallation.
3.2.8Allboltsshallbeinstalledneatly.Forgatevalvesandstopvalves,theboltsofthespacerflangesshallbetightenedwhenthevalvesareintheopenstate.
3.3QualitystandardofMaintenance
3.3.1Thevalvenameplateshallremainintactandtheleadsealofthesafetyvalveshallkeepsoundandperfect.
3.3.2Thevalvecastingshallhavenosuchdefectsascracks,seriousshrinkagecavitiesandslaginclusion.
3.3.3Thesurfaceofthevalveforgingtobemachinedshallhavenosuchdefectsassandwiching,double-skin,crackingandblackspots.
3.3.4Theweldjointofvalveweldmentshallhavenosuchdefectsascracks,sluginclusion,gasholes,andpoorformation.
3.3.5Theboltofthevalveshallnotbeloosenedandtheendoftheboltshallbe2-3threadsoutofthenut.Thepartsoftheactuatingsystemshallbecompleteandoperable.
3.3.6SealSurface
3.3.6.1Thesealsurfaceshallbecheckedforproperimprintofthecontactsurfacewiththedeveloper.
a.Forgatevalves,stopvalvesandcheckvalves,theimprintlinesshallbecontinuouswiththewidthbeingnotlessthan1mmandtheimprintbeinguniform.Theextremepositionoftheimprintlineofthegatevalvedisconthesealsurfaceshallbenolessthan3mmfromtheexcircle(includingthewidthoftheimprintline).
b.Theimprintlineoftheballvalveshallbecontinuouswiththewidthbeingnotlessthanthatoftheouterdiameterofthesealringofvalvebodyandtheimprintbeinguniform.
3.3.6.2Thecumulativedecreaseinthicknessofthesealsurfaceofthesafetyvalveafterlappingshallbenotmorethan2mm.
3.3.6.3Thethicknessofthebuild-upweldinglayerofthesafetyvalve'ssealsurfaceshallnotbelessthan2mm.
3.3.6.4Theroughnessofthesealsurfaceafterlappingshallnotbelowerthan1.6andnotbelowerthan0.4forsafetyvalves.
3.3.7ValveBody,ValveBonnetandGaskets
3.3.7.1Theconnectionbetweenthevalveseatandvalvebodyshallbefirm,tightandfreeofleakage.
3.3.7.2Thevalvediskfitstheguideperfectlyandthereshallbenojammingandderailingatanyposition.

3.3.11PackingSeal
3311.1Thepackingformiterjointshallhaveanobliqueangleof30madeandthejointsofeverytwoneighboringturnsofthepackingshallbestaggeredby120andthepackingshallbecompressedfastturnbyturn.
3.3.11.2Afterthestuffingisinserted,thepackingglandshallbepressedintothestuffingboxbynolessthan2mm.Theexposedportionshallnotbelessthantwothirdsoftheheightofthepackingglandthatcanbepressedintothestuffingbox.
3.3.11.3Afterthepackingisfilled,thevalvestemshallrotate,goupanddownfreelywithoutseizureandleakage.
3.3.11.4Forselectionofappropriatepackingmaterials,refertoAppendixE(ForReferenee).
3.3.12AssemblingofValve
3.3.12.2Theflangeandguidebushingofthesafetyvalvebodyshallbealignedforfitting.
3.3.12.3Theindicatingandlimitmechanismsshallbecorrectlylocated.
