  III.MyViewsontheBook

  TreasureIsland’ssuccessreliesnotonlyontheplotbutalsothedepictionofthecharacters.Forexample,intheverybeginningthedescriptiontothecaptain,“histarrypigtailfallingovertheshouldersofhissoiledbluecoat,hishandsraggedandscarred,withblack,brokennails;andthesabrecutacrossonecheek,adirty,lividwhite.”Thiscaneasilyleadpeoplethinkingofamurderouspirate.

  Secondly,althoughthisnovel’snamewasTreasureIsland,whatitwantedtopassonwasnotthegoldandsilver.Whatitreallywantedtotransmitwastheloveofthehumanityandjustice.Amongthegroupofcombativepirates,Jimwasonthecontrary.Hewasfriendlytopeopleandhecoulddistinguishthegoodfromthebad.Hiswittyandbravewasinspiredintheconflictoftheseizingtreasures.Finally,theywonthegame.TheoppositeofJimwasSilver.Hewasalsoadistinctivecharacter.Andwecanalsosaythathewasamanwithcourageandplans.However,thewayhechosewasawayfullofsins,soeventuallyhewascastasidebypeople.

  Thirdly,wecanfeeltheseduceofthemoneythroughreadingthisnovel.Thedirenessformoneycanchangetheattachmentbetweenpeople.Itcancausethedog-eat-dog.Butinreality,themoneyisinnocent.Whatmakesthemoneyterribleisthehuman’sdesires.Inaword,weshouldtreatmoneyrationally.Onlyinthiswaycanmoneybecomethemost
