(1)ThiscourseiscalledSelectedReadingsinEnglishandAmericanLiterature,acompulsorycourseforyou.Itwillbefinishedin12weeks.Andineachweekwe'llmeeteachothertwotimes.

(2)Inthiscourse,youwillhavetoreadsomeoriginalworkstakenfromEnglishandAmericanclassics.Itmaybealittlebitdifficultforyou.However,it'salsoachanceforyoutoknowsomegreattreasuryinworldliteratureandI'llhelpyouunderstandthem.

(3)Comparingwiththeliteraryhistorycourses,thiscoursemainlyfocusesonoriginalproductions.Thecoursebookisaniceonewithclassicalworksanddetailednotes.

(4)Forthefinaltest,10%willbedecidedbyyourattendance,20%byyourhomeworkand70%bythetestpaper.Aboutthehomework,afterwefinisheachwriter,I'llgiveyouanamelistofrecommendedworkswrittenbythewriter.Inthewholesemester,youshouldchooseatleastonepieceofEnglishwriter'sworksandonepieceofAmericanwriter'sworksrecommendedbyme.Andthenyoushouldwriteasmallpaperonthepieceofworksyouchose.Thatmeansyoushouldturnintwopapersinthewholesemester.
