Finally,hefoundsomethingelsetobelieveinwhilehewaslivinginasmallminingtowninBelgium—art.Hereturnedtohischildhoodloveofpaintinganddrawing.

HewasanimportantandgreatartistinagenerationthatchallengedtheImpressioniststyle.Post-Impressionists,likeVanGogh,wantedtoshowtheworldasitfelttothem,notalwaysasitlooked.

VanGoghuseddifferentformsandcolorstomakehisartmoreabstract.Thewayheusedcolorswasespeciallyimpressive.InWheatfieldwithCrows(1890),thecolorsareveryintense.Cornisyellow,grassisgreen,andcrowsareblack.Butthecolorsareusedinsuchawaythatitlooksbetterthanaphotograph.
