CourseIntroduction
1.外语系英语专业培养目标(generaltrainingobjective):
培养能系统地掌握英语语言基本知识和基础理论,具有较强英语语言运用能力和教学、管理能力的中小学英语教师和管理人才
2.专业素质要求(professionalqualities)
1)发音正确,语调自然,语流顺畅.
2)较好地掌握句子之间和段落之间的衔接手段如照应、省略、替代等。
3)通过课堂教学和其他途径认知词汇达7,000-9,000个;且能正确而熟练地使用其中的4,000-5,000个及其最常用的搭配。
4)听懂难度较大的材料,理解大意,领会作者的态度、感情和真实意图;听懂英语国家广播电台的新闻节目;能在15分钟内听写词数为250个左右、语速为每分钟150个单词的录音材料,错误率不超过6%。
5)能就所熟悉的话题进行交流(communicate);能比较流畅(fluent)和准确(accurate)地向外宾介绍国内的名胜古迹(placesofhistoricinterestandscenicbeauty)、我国当前的形势和政策方针;能比较系统、深入、连贯地发表自己的见解。
6)能读懂难度相当于美国Times或NewYorkTimes的社论和政论文章;能读懂难度相当于TheGreatGatsby的文学原著,难度相当于TheRiseandFalloftheThirdReich的历史传记。
要求在理解的基础上分析文章的思想观点、篇章结构和文体风格。
阅读速度为每分钟140-180个单词,理解准确率不低于75%。
能在5分钟内速读1,300词左右的文章,掌握文章的主旨和大意。
7)能写故事梗概、读书报告、课程论文以及正式的书信等。
要求语言正确、表达得体并具有一定的思想深度。
写作速度为30分钟250-300个单词。
8)初步了解翻译基础理论和英、汉两种语言的异同,并掌握常用的翻译技巧,能将中等难度的英语篇章或段落译成汉语。
译文忠实原文,语言通顺,速度为每小时250-300个英文单词;能将中等难度的汉语篇章或段落译成英语,速度和译文要求与英译汉相同。
能担任外宾日常生活的口译
9)能熟练地使用各种英英词典以及大型百科全书(如EncyclopediaBritannica以及EncyclopediaAmericana),独立解决语言问题和部分知识方面的疑难问题。
10)熟悉中国文化传统,具有一定的艺术修养;熟悉英语国家的地理、历史、发展现状、文化传统、风俗习惯;具有较多的人文知识和科技知识;具有较强的汉语口头和书面表达能力;具有较强的创新意识和一定的创新能力。
3.综合英语课的性质和要求(natureandrequirementsofIntensiveReading)
1)课程性质:
基础性(Foundation):
英语专业基础阶段的基础课,为其他专业课(阅读、口语、听力)和进一步学习语言、文化、文学等(英国文学、美国文学、英语国家概况、语言学导论)提供良好的语言基础;综合性(comprehensiveness):
集听、说、读、写、译为一体,通过大量的单项或综合训练提高语言的准确性(accuracy)和熟练程度(proficiency),全面提高英语交际能力。
2)教学方式:
以课堂讲授为引导,提供口头和笔头训练的机会,协助完成训练,解决普遍、突出问题,讲解难点、重点。
以自主学习为主,充分了解自己的基础,有目的、有针对性地利用课外时间巩固和拓展知识,创造机会锻炼口头、笔头能力,发挥优势,弥补不足。
3)教学重点:
深入学习词汇、结构、语法点和写作、翻译技巧,全面提高语言的准确性。
强调基于准确的流利和熟练。
4)教材详解
a)语言结构:
基本语言结构出现频率高,是交际的基本素材(包括词汇)。
熟练掌握其意义和用法,积累语言材料,是提高交际能力和应变能力的基础。
b)对话:
学习对话者在特定语言环境下的交际策略和交际语言,在相似语言环境中模仿他们、学习他们。
c)阅读:
在阅读过程中准确获取信息,综合把握语言的使用,学习作者的遣词造句及篇章组织。
d)指导性写作:
学习语言组织的有机方法,(本期)重点掌握连接词。
e)互动:
在特定语言环境中相互沟通交流,培养提高交际能力。
