WhyWomenCan’tSeemtoBreaktheInvisibleBarrierThatBlocksThemfromtheTopJob.”Thetermresonatedtowomenaroundtheworldbecauseitcapturedourfrustrations—andtheterm“glassceiling”hasnowbecomecommonplace.However,EaglyandCarlibelieveabettermetaphorforwhatconfrontswomenintheircareersistheterm“labyrinth”becauseit“conveystheideaofacomplexjourneytowardagoalworthstrivingfor.Passagethroughalabyrinthisnotsimpleordirect,butrequirespersistence,awareofone’sprogress,andacarefulanalysisofthethepuzzlesthatlieahead.”
