Biography

ProfessorHung-FatTseistheChairProfessorofCardiovascularMedicineandWilliamMWMongEndowerProfessorinCardiology,theAcademicChiefintheCardiologyDivision,DepartmentofMedicine,QueenMaryHospital;andDeputy Director,ResearchCenteroftheHeart,Brain,HormoneandHealthyAging,LKSFacultyofMedicine,theUniversityofHongKong.Prof.TsereceivedhismedicaldegreefromtheUniversityofHongKong,HongKong.HecompletedhispostgraduatetraininginInternalMedicineandCardiologyintheDepartmentofMedicine,QueenMaryHospital,UniversityofHongKong,andhiscardiac-electrophysiologytrainingfellowshipattheUniversityofMichigan,USA.

ProfessorTseisaninternationalexpertincardiacpacingandelectrophysiology,andcardiovascularregenerativemedicine.Hehassignificantlycontributedtotheunderstandingofthemechanismsaswellasdevelopmentofnoveltherapiesfortreatmentofheartrhythmdisorder.Inaddition,ProfessorTseisattheforefrontofapplyingstemcellsincardiovascularregenerativemedicine.HisresearchcenterandbasiclaboratorytogetherwiththeSunChiehYehCardiovascularResearchandTrainingLaboratory（forlargeanimalresearch）arededicatedtothetraininganddevelopmentofnoveldeviceandbiologicaltherapiesforcardiovasculardiseases.Prof.Tsehaspublishedover420originalscientificreportsininternationalscientificjournals,includingNewEnglandJournalofMedicine,NatureMedicine,Lancet,CellStemCell,Circulation,Blood,JournalofAmericanCollegeofCardiology,ArchivesofInternalMedicine,AmericanJournalofMedicine,EuropeanHeartJournalandStemCell.ProfessorTse'scurrentprojectsinclude:

∙Basicandclinicalcardiacelectrophysiology;

∙Novelnon-pharmacologicaltherapies,suchasmedicaldevicesandgene-basedapproachesforcardiacarrhythmias;

∙Non-invasiveassessmentofcardiovascularsystem,suchasvascularultrasound,CTscanandMRI;and
