啮齿类动物手术可以在无菌操作条件下进行，要求

（1）手术区域干净[用消毒液擦拭过（例如碘酊和75%乙醇溶液）],

（2）器械经高压灭菌或化学消毒15min以上，手术相关人员要戴口罩、无菌手套或用75%乙醇或其他消毒剂彻底清洗消毒过的乳胶手套。

G1.动物在有何种症状时采用安乐死？

每一项实验都难以避免有一些并发症的产生，所以动物需及早进行安乐死，每个PI应提供针对性的、客观的标准来确定对动物实施安乐死时机。

Everyexperimentcarriesthepossibility,howeverunlikely,ofunforeseencomplications,whichmightrequireearlyeuthanasiaofananimal.Everyinvestigatorshouldindicatespecific,objectivecriteriathatwillbeusedtoidentifyanimalsthatshouldbeeuthanized.

如果动物开始表现有不动、蜷缩、拒食、皮毛皱褶、自虐等征兆，立即对动物实施安乐死。

Iftheanimalstartsshowingsignsofimmobility,ahuddledposture,theinabilitytoeat,ruffledfurorself-mutilation,theanimalwillbesacrificedimmediately.

G2.是否有无法排减的疼痛和痛苦（例如疼痛持续时间长或剧痛）？

止痛药可以减少疼痛，但是却不能减轻动物的心理压力。

因此应当有给动物减压的措施，比如让动物提前适应环境等，将改善措施做到极致。

如是则每天应由专人对病危的动物进行观察记录两次（早晚各一次）。

当发现动物有死亡征兆时，如出现蜷缩、一动不动、皮毛皱褶、不进食、体温降低（直肠温度﹤34℃）或体重下降（﹥20％）等症状时，经慎重考虑后对动物实施安乐死。

如动物不能站立，呼吸困难，严重的肌肉萎缩，严重溃疡或流血不止时应及时采用适当的方法让其安乐死。

Ifthisalternativeisconsidered,youmustaddressthefollowingissuesinthespacebelow.Itisconsideredtobemorehumanetoeuthanizeanimalswhenitcanbereasonablypredictedthattheanimalwilldiesoon.Indicatorssuchashuddledposture,immobility,ruffledfur,failuretoeat,hypothermia（colonictemperatureof<34oC）,orweightloss/（>20%）maybeusefulobjectivecriteriaforearlyeuthanasia.Animalsapproachingapre-moribundstateshouldbemonitoredtwiceaday（atthebeginningandendoftheday）byanexperiencedperson.Writtenrecordsofthemonitoringsessionshouldbemaintained.Animalsshoulddefinitelybeeuthanizediftheyareunabletostandoriftheydisplayagonalbreathing,severemuscularatrophy,severeulceration,oruncontrolledbleeding.
