each用作主语同位语时谓语用单数还是复数
a.Eachstudent__________adictionary.
b.Thestudentseach__________adictionary.
A.have，have B.have，has C.has，have D.has，has
此题应选C。
a句的谓语用单数，这很显然。
b句的谓语要用复数，这点考生很容易出错。
其实a，b两句的意思是一样的（＝每个学生都有一本字典），但是注意：
b句真正的主语是thestudents，其后的each是主语的同位语，由于谓语是与主语保持一致（而不是与其同位语保持一致），所以此句要选have。
请看以下例句：
Weeachhaveacomputer.我们每人都有一台电脑。
Theyeachhavereadthebook.他们每个人都读过这本书。
Theyoungpeopleeachcarryabigbag.这些年轻人个个背着一个大袋子。
MybrotherandIeachhaveacar.我和我兄弟每人都有一辆小汽车。
顺便说一句，若用eachof...作主语，其谓语通常是用单数，但在口语或非正式英语中也可用复数（不如用单数常见）：
Eachoftheboyswas[were]deeplyfrightened.男孩子们个个都惊恐万分。
Eachofthesebookswas[were]interesting.这些书当中每一本都很有趣。
Eachofthestudentshashis[havetheir]ownbooks.每个学生都有自己的书。
also,too,either和as well用法区别
also,too,aswell和either这四个词都意为“也”，但用法不同。
（1）also用于肯定句，一般放在be动词和助动词之后、行为动词之前。
例如：
Wewouldalsoliketogotothemovies.我们也喜欢去看电影。
also比too和aswell正式，有时为了强调也放在句末（但不常见）。
如：
Healsocame./Hecamealso.他也来了。
Sheisyoungandbeautiful，andalsorich.她年轻漂亮，而且有钱。
（2）too是个常用词，多用于口语，语气较随便。
用于肯定句句尾，其前常用逗号分开。
或作为插入语放在句中。
例如：
I'minRow1，too．我也在第一排。
Theyaremiddleschoolstudents,too.他们也是中学生。
She，too，isasinger．她也是一位歌唱家。
在Metoo,Youtoo这类简略答语中，通常不用aswell,also。
如：
A：
I’mtired.我累了。
B：
Metoo.我也是。
（3）aswell用于肯定句，通常位于句尾，强调时可位于句中，通常不用逗号分开。
例如：
Tomisthecaptainofthefootballteam,andisonbaseballteamaswell.汤姆是足球队长，同时也是棒球队员。
注：
too,also,aswell：
都用于肯定句，表示前者怎样后者也怎样。
三者可以作同义句转换。
例如：
YouneedtogoshoppingandIneedtogoshopping,too.
=YouneedtogoshoppingandIalsoneedtogoshopping.
=YouneedtogoshoppingandIneedtogoshoppingaswell.
（4）either只用否定句中，置于句尾，且前面常有逗号分开。
例如：
Ifyoudon’tgo,Iwon’tgo,either.如果你不去，我将也不去。
Hedoesn’twantanycoffee,andIdon’twantany,either.
Youdon’tknowthewayandIdon’tknowit,either.
注意（非初中内容）：
有时在肯定句之后跟一个否定句，可能用too，also。
如：
Hecame,butshedidn’talsocame.他来了，但她没有也一起来（from）。
HewenttoWashington,butnottoNewYorktoo.他去了华盛顿，但并不是也去了纽约。

这一对短语仅差一字之微，意义相近，故很易引起混淆。
作为习语用作介词时，aswellas的涵义是“还有”、“不但…而且…”。
值得注意的是，在AaswellasB的结构里，语意的重点在A，不在B。
因此，“HecanspeakSpanishaswellasEnglish．”的译文应该是：
“他不但会说英语，而且会讲西班牙语”，决不能译作：
“他不但会说西班牙语，而且会讲英语”。
如果这样翻译，就是本末倒置了。
aswellas和notonly…butalso…同义，但前者的语意重点和后者的语意重点恰好颠倒。
如果aswellas用作连词引出比较从句，其义为“和…一样好”。
因此，“HespeaksSpanishaswellasEnglish．”应译作：
“他说西班牙语像说英语一样好”。
语意的重点依旧在前部，不在后半部。
请注意aswellas以下的用法：
ShecalledonyouaswellasI．
不但我来看你，她也拜访了你。
Shecalledonyouaswellasme．
她不但拜访了我，也拜访了你。
在下列句中，aswellas表示“像…一样”的涵义：
SheaswellasyouisanEnglishteacher．
她像你一样也是英文教师。
这里的谓语动词用is，不用are，因为句中的主语是she，不是she和you。
Aswell是副词短语，其义为“也”，相当于too，它一般放在句末，有时和连词and或but搭配使用。
例：
Heisaworker，andapoetaswell．
他是工人，但也是诗人。
Chinapossessesenormousquantitiesofcoalandisrichinothermineralsaswell．
中国拥有大量煤炭，其他的矿藏也很丰富。
Mr．LiucanspeakEnglish，buthecanspeakCantoneseaswell．
刘先生会说英语，但他也能讲广东话。

现把aswell的用法简单总结如下：
一、aswell常用于肯定句句尾，表示“还，也”等意思。
1.HeknowsFrench,andheknowsEnglishaswell.
他懂法语，他也懂英语。

1.notonly…butalso应连接两个相对称的并列成分。
例如：
NotonlyMrLinbutalsohissonjoinedthePartytwoyearsago.（连接两个主语）
Inotonlyplaytennisbutalsopractiseshooting.（连接两个谓语动词）
Heplaysnotonlythepianobutalsotheviolin.（连接两个宾语）
TheyspeakEnglishnotonlyinclassbutalsointhedormitory.（连接两个地点状语）
注1：
Shenotonlysingswellbutalsodancesbeautifully.=Shedoesn’tonlysingwellbutalsodancesbeautifully.
注2：
句子Henotonlyplaysthepianobutalsotheviolin不是好的文体，因为butalso之后的成分与notonly之后的成分不对称。
2.notonly…butalso连接两个分句，并且notonly位于句首时，第一个分句中的主语和谓语要部分倒装。
例如：
Notonlydoesthesungiveuslightbutalsoitgivesusheat.
NotonlydidhespeakEnglishcorrectly，butalsohespeaksitfluently.
Notonlyisthisyoungmancleverbutalsoheishardworking.
3.notonly…butalso不能用在否定句中。
例如：
误：

正：

4.notonly…butalso连接两个主语时，谓语动词要和与其最近的主语保持人称和数的一致。
例如：
Notonlythestudentsbutalsotheteacherwasagainsttheplan./Notonlytheteacherbutalsothestudentswereagainsttheplan.
5.notonly…butalso中的notonly不能分开使用，但butalso却可以分开使用。
例如：
Theareawasnotonlyhitbyanunexpectedheavyrain，butsomebridgeswerealsowashedaway.
6.notonly…butalso连接两个并列成分时，可以省略but或also，也可以把butalso都省略掉。
例如：
Inotonlyhearditbut（also）sawit.
Hewasnotonlycompelledtostayathome，（but）alsoforbiddentoseehisfriend.
Shenotonlyfinishedthetaskaheadoftime，（butalso）shecametohelpus.
7.也可用but…too/aswell替代notonly…butalso中的butalso.例如：
Shenotonlysangwellbutdancedgracefullytoo（oraswell）
8.也可以用besides，furthermore，moreover，inaddition等替代notonly…butalso中的butalso.例如：
Notonlywastherenofood，butalso（或furthermore，besides，moreover，inaddition）therewasnowater.
9.也可用merely，just，simply等替代notonly…butalso中的only.例如：
Theynotmerely（orjust，simply）brokeintohisofficeandstolehisbooksbutalsotoreuphismanuscripts.
10.notonlyAbutalsoB=BaswellasA，但前者的强调重点在B；后者的强调重点也在B.（汉译时，要先译aswellas后面的词）例如：
Thechildisnotonlyhealthybutalsolively.（=Thechildislivelyaswellashealthy.）这孩子既健康又活泼。
Itconcernsnotonlymebutalsoyou.（=Itconcernsyouaswellasme.）
