Accordingtoanothersurvey,bytheEuropeanMonitoringCentreforDrugsandDrugAddiction,twoinfive15-year-oldsintheUKhavetriedcannabis(大麻).ThisnumberishigherthananywhereelseinEurope.TheUKhasalsothecommonhighestnumberofyoungcocaine(可卡因)users,togetherwithSpain.

TheBritishgovernmenthasrecentlymadenewplanstofighttheproblemofdrugabuseintheUnitedKingdom,alsoamongteenagers.Accordingtothenewproposals,youngoffenderswillhavetoattenddrugtreatmentaspartofcommunityservice.Britishpolicewillbeabletogivepeoplebloodtestsfordrugswhentheyarrestthem,notjustwhentheychargethemwithanoffence.Drugsellersworkingnearaschoolorusingchildrentohelpselldrugswillfacetougherpenalties(处罚).
