WilliamHerschelwasbornonNovember15th,1738inHanoverinafamilyofmusicians.In1757,hefledtoEnglandandbeganearningalivingasanorganistandlatercomposerandconductor.In1772,heconvincedhissisterCarolinetojoinhimasasinger.Intheirsparetimethebrother-sisterteambecameoccupiedinastronomy.WilliamdiedathishomeinSlough,nearWindsoronAugust25th,1822,andCarolineonSeptember1st,1848.
