Fifteenyearsago,ItookasummervacationinLecceinsouthernItaly.Afterclimbingupahillforapanoramic(全景的)viewofthebluesea,whitebuildingsandgreenolivetrees,I pausedtocatchmybreathandthenpositionedmyselftotakethebestphotoofthispanorama.

Sure,I couldhaveaskedher,butsomethingpreventedmefromdoingso.Sheseemedsocontentinherobservation.I didn’twanttomesswiththat.

Another15minutespassedandI grewbored.Thewomanwasstillthere.Idecidedtotakethephotoanyway.AndnowwhenIlookatit,Ithinkherpresenceinthephotoiswhatmakestheimageinteresting.Thelandscape,beautifulonitsown,somehowcomestolifeandbreathesbecausethiswomanisengagingwithit.
