1.Thefourdiagnosticmethodstoobserveanddiagnosediseases

Thefourdiagnosticmethods,namedinspection,auscultationandolfaction,inquiry,andpulse-takingandpalpation,refertothefourbasicproceduresusedindiagnosingadisease,TheyarethepresuppositionsofcorrectdifferentiationandeffectivetreatmentinTCM.

（1）Inspectionisthefirstdiagnosticprocedurebywhichthephysicianmayobservethepatient'svitality,complexion,physicalbuild,head,neck,fivesenseorgans,skin,tongue,externalgenitaliaandanusonpurposesoastounderstandtheconditionofadisease.Anditistheoutwardsignoftheconditionsofqiandblood,yinandyang,orthezang-fuorgans.

（2）Anotherdiagnosticmethodisauscultationandolfaction.Auscultationmeanslisteningtothepatient'svoice,speaking,respiration,coughingandmoaning.

（3）Inquiry. Thisisadiagnosticmethodinwhichthepatientorhiscompanionareinquiredtocollecttheinformationconcerningadisease.Thecontentofinquiryincludesthechiefcomplaints,presentcasehistorypasthistory,lifehistory,familyhistory,aswellasage,sex,nativeplace,occupation,addressandsoforthinquiry,thoughcoveringawiderangeoftopics,shouldbeconductedstepbystepinaplannedway,withquestionsfocusedonthechiefcomplaintandthehistoryofpresentdisease.

（4）Pulse-takingandPalpation. Itisthefourthdiagnosticmethod,includingpulse-takingand,ontheother,palpationofdifferentpartsofthebody.Theformerisadiagnosticprocedurebywhichthephysicianmayfeelthepatient'sradialarterieswiththefinger-tipstojudgepulsecondition,thuslearningandinferringtheconditionofillness.Thelatterisalsoaprocedurebywhichthephysicianmaytouch,feel,pushandpresscertainpartsofthebodytodetectlocalabnormalchanges,therebydeterminingthelocationandnatureofthedisease.

2.ThetreatmentmethodofTraditionalChineseMedicine

（1）acupuncture and moxibustion:

OneoftheoldestformsofChineseMedicine,Acupunctureinvolvesthestimulationofanatomicalpointsonthebodywiththinneedle.acupuncturepatientsusuallyfeellittletonopain.Acupunctureneedlesarehair-thinandaremanipulatedeitherbyhandorelectricity.

（2）Massage:

ChinesemassageisknownasTuiNa，Useswave-likemotionstoloosenjointsandnourishmuscles.Bringsawarenessbacktoaperson’sbody,makingitafirststepinthehealingprocess.StimulatestheflowofQi,bloodandbodyfluids，Canbeusedtotreatpain,stressordigestionproblems.

（3）Herbs:

HerbsareavitalpartofChinesehealing.Eachingredienthasuniquecharacteristics.Theingredientsworkinharmonytohelpaperson’sbody.HerbscanhelpboostQiandbalanceYin/Yang.

（4）surfacetherapeuticmethod:

Justlikegua-shaandcupping，unguent.

3.diagnostic methodofwesternmedicine

（1）inquiry.bythewayoftalking,thepatientortheinsider'snarration,tounderstandthepatient'scondition,andmakeapreliminarydiagnosis.

（2）physicalexamination.thedoctortousetheirsenseorgansbyinspection,palpation,percussion,auscultation,olfactoryexaminationmethodsorusingastethoscope,percussionhammer,bloodpressuremonitor,thermometerandothersimpletoolsforthepatienttomakeacomprehensive,systematicexaminationtodiagnosethepatient'sdisease.

（3）laboratorytests.Takingatextinpatientswithblood,bodyfluids,secretions,excretions,samplingofcellsandtissuespecimens,thesewereexaminedtodiagnosethepatient'sdisease.

（4）ECG examination.Usingtheelectrocardiographstorecordsdataofbody,tochecktheheartdiseases.

（5）medicalimaging.UsingpenetratingabilityofX-ray,tomaketheinternalstructureofthehumanbodyappearonthescreenorXon-chipshadowtoobservationandunderstandthediseasesituation.Wecanalsousetheapplicationofcomputertomographytechnology（CT）andmagneticresonanceimaging（MRI）examination,Bythisway,wecanmakeamoreaccuratediagnosis.
