Leahrepeatedthelist.Butaminutelater,sheinsertednewtoysshe’djustspottedatthemall.

“I’vegotanidea,”saidLeanne,diggingintoherpurseasthelineinchedforward.“Let’swritedownyourrequestssoyouwon’tforgetthem.”Icouldn’thelpbutlaugh.GoingtoseeSantawassuchanimportantappointmentforasix-year-old.Nochildshouldhaveanyworriesbiggerthanthat.Butthenightbefore,onthenews,I’dseenavillageintheMiddleEastthathadcomeunderfire.ManyofthewoundedwerechildrenjustlikeourLeah.LookingaroundthemallfullofmagicaldecorationsandhappyshoppersIfeltsafe,assafeasanyonecouldbe.Everyoneintheworldshouldhavethatkindofsecurity,especiallyatChristmas.
