In1937,Tolkiencompletedhisfirstwork“TheHobbit”.Althoughthiswasafairytale,itwasalsosuitableforadultstoread.Becauseofgoodsales,thepublisherAllen&UnwinconvincedTolkientowriteitssequel.ThisencouragedTolkientocompletehismostfamousworkstheepic(史诗)trilogy“TheLordoftheRings”.TheworksofwritingwentonforalmostayearwiththesupportfromhisgoodfriendLewis.
