WithBottomdisabled,Skeinforgewillautomaticallyadd1/2ofthelayerheighttothestartingZheight.ThisbehaviormaybeundesirableifyouhavealreadysetyourZendstoptothedesiredstartingheight.Todisablethisbehavior,enableBottomandsetbothAdditionalHeightoverLayerThicknessandAltitudeto0.

Inthisscenario,theZaxiswillneedtoberaisedbeforeprinting.Here'swhereBottomisareallyusefulplugintocontrolthestartingZheightforprinting.BysettingAdditionalHeightoverLayerThicknessratioto1(orjustslightlyunder,sothefirstlayeradheresbetter),SkeinforgewillautomaticallysetthestartingZheighttoyourlayerheight.Usingthismethod,younolongerneedtoadjustyourphysicalendstopswhenyouchangelayerheight.
Protip:
Usingthismethod,parkingthetipofthehotendontheprintbed,caneliminatemostoozingwhileyourprinterishotandidle.
