Istronglybelievethatunderstandingismoreimportantthanlove,especiallywhenitcomestoparentingandintimaterelationships.AsapsychologistformorethantwentyyearsIcantellyouthatIhaveneverhadanadultlookingbackatherchildhoodandcomplainingthatherparentsweretoounderstanding.Andsimilarly,Ihavemetmanydivorcedpeoplewhostillloveeachotherbutyettheyneverreallyunderstoodeachother.
