thelackofadequatelyfundedschools,thedemandforincomeathomeandsoon.Thestreetmaybeattractivetochildrenasaplacetofindadventurousplayandmoney.However,itisalsoaplacewheresomechildrenareexposed,withlittleornoprotection,toexploitativeemployment,andurbancrime.

StreetBusinessPartnerships

S.K.I.hasworkedwithpartnerorganizationsinLatinAmerica,AfricaandIndiatodevelopinnovativeopportunitiesforstreetchildrentoearnincome.

•TheS.K.IBicycleCourierServicefirststartedintheSudan.Participantsinthisenterpriseweresuppliedwithbicycles,whichtheyusedtodeliverparcelsandmessages,buttheywererequiredtopayforitgraduallyfromtheirwages.
