作定语时相当于具有主谓宾关系的定语从句，翻译时可采取倒译法。

复合形容词中的过去分词与名词之间具有主谓关系,语态上表示被动。

作定语时相当于“过去分词+by/withsomebody/something”翻译时可采取直译法。

复合形容词构成中的现在分词与过去分词的区别,apeace-lovingnation=anationwhichlovespeace（一个爱好和平的民族）anEnglish-speakingcountry=acountrywhosepeoplespeakEnglish（一个说英语的国家）。

这种复合形容词中的现在分词与名词之间具有动宾关系,语态上表示主动。
