Oncetheneedforfoodwasmet,thenextchallengewouldarise—wheretofindaplacetosleepforthenight.Fortunately,localprogramsliketheCoalitionfortheHomeless,SecondHarvestFoodBankandtheWayneDenschCenterwereanimportantpartofmyabilitytosurvivemypainfulexperience.

Withtheassistanceoftheseprograms,IwasacceptedbyacollegescholarshipprogramthroughtheCoalitionandobtainedtwodegreesfromValencia.

Myexperiencehashelpedmeunderstandthatdevotingmylifetohelpingothersofferslastingrewards.Today,IamemployedasChildhoodHungerProgramsManageratSecondHarvestFoodBankandoverseethesummerfeeding,Hi-FiveKidsPack,andKidsCaféprograms.Iamsoproudtobeabletodistributefoodresourcestothosewonderfulprogramsandhelphundredsmorelikeme.
