TheSecretariatBuilding,whichhousestheUNadministrativeoffices,wascompletedin1950,andUnitedNationsHeadquartersofficiallyopenedin1951.TheLibrarywasdedicatedin1961.Overtheyears,changeshavebeenmadeinsidethebuildingstoaccommodatetheexpandedmembershipoftheUnitedNations.TodaytheGeneralAssemblyHall,thelargestconferenceroom,seatsmorethan1,800people.
