IhadagreattimethispastsummervisitingStoneMountainParkwithmytwingrandsons.Ihadtheopportunitytospendthedaywiththemseeingthevarioussightsandattractions.Onethingthatmygrandsonshadreallywantedtodothatparticulardaywastoclimbtothetopofthemountain.StoneMountainisn'taparticularlytallmountainandfortunatelyhaswalkingtrailstothetop,butfortwo5-year-olds,alongwithgrandpa,it'saformidabletask.

Iwastiredandsweaty,justwantingtogettothetopofthemountainsoIcouldrestwellbeforestartingmywayback.Ilearnedearlyonduringourwalkthatthiswasn'tgoingtobethecase.Wehadtostopandlookateverylargerockwithsomeone'snamecarvedinit.Welookedatunusualplantformations.Weexaminedlargetreesandweexploredsmallrockoverhangsthatremindedthekidsofcaves.Mygrandsonsviewedthewalkasanexcitingadventure.Climbingthemountainwasatrialtomebutmygrandsonswerenotfocusedatallonthetrialofclimbingthemountain;theyweresimplyenjoyingthejourneyofthewalk.
