弥达斯是马其顿勃洛弥恩的国王。

他统治勃里癸亚人民，种植闻名遐迩的玫瑰花。

一天，狄俄尼索斯以前的老师森林之神老西勒诺斯喝醉了，躺在弥达斯的花园里酣然大睡。

园丁发现了他，把他捆起来领去见弥达斯。

西勒诺斯给弥达斯说了一些很有意思的故事，让弥达斯很高兴。

于是他盛情款待老山神五天五夜，然后派向导护送他回到狄俄尼索斯的大本营。

狄俄尼索斯一直在为西勒诺斯担心，看到西勒诺斯平安回来很高兴。

他询问问弥达斯有什么要求，他应该怎样报答他。

弥达斯毫不迟疑地回答说，“请恩准使我摸到的一切都变成金子。

”然而，变成金子的不仅仅是石块、花朵和屋内的陈设。

他坐下吃饭时，他吃的食物和喝的水也都变成金子。

过了不久，弥达斯恳求狄俄尼索斯使他从他那愿望中解脱开来，因为他饥渴交加，快死了。

狄俄尼索斯逗弄弥达斯，开心得很。

他叫弥达斯前往帕克托罗斯河的源头，在河里洗个澡。

弥达斯依法行事，立即解除了点金术，但帕克托罗斯河的沙子至今因含金而闪闪发光。

最后他们来到一间简陋的小茅屋前，这里住着鲍西丝和她的老伴费莱蒙，老俩口虽然很贫穷，却尽力去款待两位天神，给他们最好的座位，并立即为他们准备晚餐。

IdasandMarpessaarrivedatariverside.Theyspentthenightinatemplenearby．Whenmorningcame，IdasfoundthatMarpessahadbeenstolenbyApollo,whowasattractedbyherbeauty.Idasdecidedtofightdieforhislove．Apolloheldhisarrows．Idasdrewhissword．Theduelwasabouttostartwhensuddenlytheyheardathunderboltroundabout，andZeushimselfarrivedtostoptheunequalcontest．HegaveMarpessathechoicebetweenimmoralityandeternalgloryononesideandontheotheramortallifeoffaithfullovemixedwithendlesscaresandgrieves.MarpessaturneddownthesweetpromisesofApolloandchoseIdas.Apolloleftwithdisappointment.

玛彭莎

玛彭莎是国王伊万诺斯的独生女，她高贵优雅。

国王提出：

如果有人想得到玛彭莎，必须在战车较量中战胜他。

死亡将作为对失败者的惩罚。

国王确信自己能够胜利，因为他的马来自阿瑞斯的马厩。

许多年轻的王子就这样丧了命。

莫塞尼亚的王子伊达斯最后出场，他很有信心，因为他有海神波塞冬的支持。

海神借给了他马，使他最后赢得了比赛。

而国王伊万诺斯因为失去了女儿最后投江自尽。

不久伊达斯和玛彭莎来到江边。

他们在附近一寺庙中过夜。

早晨醒来，伊达斯发现阿波罗将玛彭莎偷走了。

阿波罗迷恋于玛彭沙的美貌，伊达斯决定与之决斗。

决斗即将开始。

突然，他们周围响起了雷电声。

原来是宙斯赶来制止这场不公平的决斗。

宙斯让玛彭莎作出选择：

要么长生不老，享受永久的荣耀；

要么对爱情忠贞不渝，而过一种充满忧虑和悲伤的凡人的生活。

玛彭莎谢绝了阿波罗甜蜜的许诺。

她选择了伊达斯。

阿波罗垂头丧气地走了。

伊达斯则感到万分喜悦。

AtthistimethecityofAthensneededtooffersacrificestoKingMinosofCrete.TheyneededtosendsevenboysandsevengirlstoCreteeveryyeartofeedthehalfman，halfbullMinotaur．TheseusdecidedtosetouttokilltheMinotaur.Beforehelefthepromisedhisfatherthatifhesucceededhewouldchangetheblacksailsofhisshipstowhiteones．WiththehelpofprincessAriadneofCrete，hekilledtheMinotaurandwontheloveofPrincess．ButwhenhenearedAthensheforgottoputupthepromisedwhitesails，andhisanxiousfather，sawtheblacksails，threwhimselfdownintotheseaindespair．Theseuswassoshockedandregretfulbyhisfather’sdeathwhenheheardthis.

Atlast,TheseusbecamethekingofAthens.

特修斯

特修斯的父亲是雅典国王埃尔忒斯，而他的母亲是特隆泽的一位公主。

当他还在襁褓中时，他父亲就离开他，返回自己的王国去了。

临行前，埃尔忒斯将自己的剑埋在一块巨石之下。

特修斯16岁时就长成了身强体壮的年轻人，他从巨石下拿出宝剑，并起程去寻找他的父亲。

旅途惊险至极，但他终于顺利抵达父亲的王国——雅典。

国王埃尔忒斯新近娶了梅底。

梅底是个心地歹毒的女人。

她一心想让自己的孩子继承雅典王国的王位。

她试图毒死特修斯，但是被国王发现。

梅底只好自杀。

那段时间，雅典城一直要向克里特国王米诺斯进贡，每年须向克里特王国进贡七对童男童女来喂养半人半牛的怪物。

特修斯决定去杀死怪物。

临行前，他向父亲保证，一旦成功，他将把船上的黑帆换成白帆。

在克里特公主阿瑞安得妮的帮助下，他完成了任务并赢得了克里特公主的爱。

但在快到雅典时，他忘记换约定好的白帆。

他焦虑的父亲看到黑帆，以为儿子死了，就绝望地跳海自尽了。

特修斯知道此事懊悔万分。

这样特修斯接替他的父亲，成了雅典的国王。

厄洛斯和普绪卡

有一个国王，他有三个美丽的女儿。

其中，最小的那个，普绪卡，长得是最漂亮的，她的美，无法用语言形容。

安佛洛狄忒，真正的美神，得知以后很嫉妒。

她指使她的儿子，厄洛斯，去惩罚她。

可是当厄洛斯，看到普绪卡的时候，惊异于她的美貌并立即爱上了她。

他决定偷偷背着他的母亲和普绪卡结婚。

有一天，普绪卡在森林里迷路并发现了一座豪华的宫殿。

接着，她遇到了厄洛斯并爱上了他。

厄洛斯对她非常好但从来不让她看到自己的样子。

他告诉普绪卡他现在不能够告诉她他是谁但是他的爱是真的。

普绪卡相信了并很快乐的生活，还邀请她的两个姐姐到宫殿里来做客。

然而，她的姐姐们看到妹妹有如此奢华的生活，很嫉妒。

当她们得知妹妹并不知道丈夫的样子时，她们告诉普绪卡，附近的村民说她的丈夫是一个魔鬼，并给了她一把特别的刀，让她砍掉厄洛斯的头。

在厄洛斯熟睡以后，普绪卡点亮灯并拿着刀来到丈夫床边。

忽然，她发现自己丈夫居然如此迷人。

但是太晚了，厄洛斯已经醒来并发现了一切。
