deliverytoeachbigcitystreetsofflowersshops,hawkers,couriercompaniesandconsumers.ThisistheMiamiflowerlogisticssystemoperationprocess.However,everythingishardinthebeginning,whencreatingthissystemwhenonlythroughhardworksour,sweet,bitter,hot,Bryantmostclearly.Hongkongimportedlogistics

150strainsofroseflowerswrappedin1boxes,thenputintothecontainer,transportedtoEcuadorInternationalAirportinthecapitalquito.Rosefromthefarmaftertheharvest,undernormalcircumstancescanbepreservedfor14days.Themostscientificwayisfresh,roseoncecutoffassoonaspossibleintothebox,andimmediatelystoredinrefrigeratedcontainerswithin1degreescelsius.Intheunifiedarrangementofthecompany,thesecontainersaretransportedtoMiamiAirportovernight.Themorningofthesecondday,bythecustoms,inspectionandQuarantineofanimalsandplantsbyroutineinspection,andputtheflowerstoeachbigcitynorthflowerdeliverystation.Arguably,theentiredistributionprocessofscience,canfullymeetthevariousneedsofthetransportationofflowers.Butintheactualprocess,becauseoftheexistenceofvariousuncertainfactors,oftentherewillbeunexpectedthings.

OnceremovedfromtheCotoPatsyfarmfreshrosetocompletethepackage,shouldbe8intheeveningbeforeshipmenttoQuitoairport,thentheplanetookofftoMiamiovernight.Butiftheplaneislate,butthecapacityis

Aftermorethanayearofinvestigation,Bryantflowerlogisticscompanyfoundthatboththeflowergrowersorimporters,onlypayattentiontomostofthetransportationcostislow,andfewarewillingtoconsidertheproblemofhedgingandfreshflowers.

Itisbecauseofthehighcostoftransportation,flower

importtransportationplants.Theybelievethatregionalflowertradeisverystrong,althoughtherearealotofflowersflowersexpertinbusinesstransactions,butcannotsolvetheproblemofperishableinthetransportprocessofimportedflowers.Theflowersintheimportbusinessturnedintoluck.TheUnitedStatesimportseveryyearhundredsofmillionsofdollarsofflowers,butthelackofspecializedlogisticsservicepreservation,theflowersoftenintransitaccident,hugelosses,andthepreservationoflogisticssystemcannotonlyreduceunnecessarytransportationsetbacks,butalsocanbringmoreprofitstothelogisticscompany.

Inordertopromotethepreservationandtransportationservices,

HPLattheMiamiIntercontinentalAirportbuilta70thousandsquaremetersofstoragewarehouse,attheSeattleInternationalAirportandtheestablishmentofspecializedinfreshflowerlogisticsintercontinentalfreightforwardingcompany.

Initsfirstyear,HPLprofitof$60million.Since2002,headquarteredinMiamiHPLweresetupintheflowerlogisticsofficeinChile,Australia,NewZealand,Guatemala,CostaRica,Honduras,Peru,SalvatoreandtheUK,andtheflowerdeliverybusinessexpandedtotransportmarineaquaticproducts.

Thesecondhalfof2002,theyalsosetupofficesinHollandlogistics.TheyfoundthattheflowersinHolland

deservedreputation,butthepriceisexpensive.Incontrast,LatinAmericancountriessuchascentral,ColumbiaandEcuadorhavebettermarketprospectsofproducts.InthecultivationoftheirfacilitiesthanindevelopedcountriessuchasHolland,buttheproductqualityofflowersisnotlow.Moreover,thenumberofColumbiaandEcuadorflowerfarmsgrowveryfast,highyieldandlowprice,withaverystrongpriceadvantageandcompetitivestrength.

Atpresent,theUnitedStatesimportsofflowersin1/3fromSouthAmerica,andalmostallcargoplane.According

tothestatisticaldataprovidedbyAirlinesBoeingin2001,thecompanyoperatesfromSouthAmericatotheUnited

Statestothenorthrouteofmorethan50tonsofcargo,accountingfor36%ofthevolumeofflowers.ThedevelopmentofflowerproductioninSouthAmericatofurtherpromotethedevelopmentofflowerflowerinternationaltradeandinternationallogisticsindustry,returnedtotheaircargoindustrybroughthithertounknownpro
