Sotheideaisthattheyarereallytheretobepartoftherevenue-generatingworkingclassofathletesoncampusandnotnecessarilytheretobepartoftheeducatingclassasmoststudentsinothergroupsare.

Theproblemhasgrownintosuchepidemicproportionsthatthisseverestrainofresistantbacteriaisbeingblamedfornearly700,000deathseachyearthroughouttheworld;

and,unfortunately,healthexpertsworrythatthenumberwillriseto10millionormoreonayearlybasisby2050.[15] 

Withsuchalargelife-threateningepidemic,itissadtosaythatonly1.2percentofbudgetarymoneyfortheNationalInstitutesofHealthiscurrentlybeingspentonresearchtotacklethisproblem.Thisisafarcryfromthefundsnecessaryforaproblemofsuchmagnitude.
