Nilsson’steambasedtheirconclusionsonastudyof90womenwhowererandomlyassignedtolistentomusic,acombinationofmusicandtherapeuticwordsorordinarysoundsoftheoperatingroomduringahysterectomy.
Althoughmusicandtherapeuticsuggestionsprovidedbenefitstopatients,itdidnothaveanyeffectonseveralotherfactors,includingnausea,lengthofhospitalstayandbowelfunctionaftersurgery.Thefindingsneedtobeconfirmedinadditionalstudies,theauthorsnote.
