　　Roast

　　大家都知道这个词是“烤”的意思，其实它还有另一个用法：

　　Toroastsomeone:

批评某人

　　把某人放在舆论的烤架上，用语言猛烈地炙烤，引申为严厉批评的意思：

　　Puttingthemonthespot,puttingalltheheatonthem,tocriticizethem

　　另外也可以表达带有挖苦、调侃的批评，这就和中文里的“吐槽”非常类似了，近几年中国大火的综艺节目《吐槽大会》的英文名就叫做《Roast》，它的原版是美国知名脱口秀《ComedyCentralRoast》（喜剧中心吐槽大会），专门请明星来节目上吐槽：

　　吐槽者是Roaster，如果是“被吐槽”用动词get：

　　Togetroasted:

被吐槽

　　Igotroasted.我被吐槽了。

　　在北美的婚礼上，为了活跃气氛，通常新郎都会被吐槽一下：

　　Complain

　　Complain这个词你一定学过，它和吐槽类似，用来表示内心的不满：

　　Tocomplainaboutsomethingtosomeone:

和某人抱怨某事

　　比如你去了一家很糟糕的餐厅：

　　Complainingaboutthebadservice…抱怨服务差…

　　Complainingaboutthefood…抱怨食物不好…

　　也有人不管遇到什么事都要吐槽：

　　Someoneisalwayscomplaining.某人总是在吐槽。

　　Someonelovestocomplain.某人很爱吐槽。

　　爱抱怨的人称为：

　　Acomplainer

　　具体接某件抱怨的事情，用介词about：

　　Heisalwayscomplainingaboutlife.他总是在抱怨生活。

　　其实真正在complain的时候，不一定会用到complain这个词，例如想和餐厅经理投诉、吐槽，通常直接用speak：

　　Idliketospeaktothemanager.我想和经理谈谈（投诉）。

　　经理来了之后，向他指出自己要吐槽的东西，通常会用complain的名词形式：

　　说完这么正式的complain，接下来介绍三个更生动的词：

n/哭嚷，抱怨，吐槽（孩子喜欢哭嚷）

　　Fuss

　　爱吐槽的人通常比较挑剔，对什么都有要求，形容这种“事儿多”的人：

过分挑剔的

　　Makeafuss+about:

对…小题大做，大惊小怪

　　Sheissofussyandalwaysmakingafuss.她太挑剔了，总是小题大做。

　　还可以加上表示程度的短语：

特别小题大做

　　另外去别人家做客时，如果你不想太麻烦主人，可以客气地说：
