Purpose

TheseGuidelinesprovidedetailontheproceduresusedbytheACSintheconsiderationofapplicationsforassessmentofqualificationsandworkexperiencecarriedoutforthepurposesofmigrationtoAustralia.

Scope

TheGuidelinesapplytothefollowingtypesofapplications:

}Allpre-migrationapplications.

}ThosedomesticstreamapplicationswhichhavebeensubmittedbyapplicantswhoareinAustraliaontemporaryvisas（andwhoareapplyingforpermanentresidency）andrequireapre-migrationskillsassessment.

TheGuidelinesdonotapplytodomesticstreamapplicationsotherthanthosedescribedabove.

PASAprocess

Pre-ApplicationSkillsAssessmentprocessistheprocessbywhichtheACSdeterminesthatapersonfulfilstheskillrequirementsspecifiedinthisdocumentformigrationpurposes.

IfyouwishtoapplytomigratetoAustraliaasanIT（Computing）ProfessionalundertheGeneralSkilledMigrationcategories,youmusthaveaskillsassessmentfromtheACStoincludewithyourmigrationapplicationtoAustralia’sDepartmentofImmigrationandCitizenship.

YoumustmeetalloftheACSeducationalandprofessionalrequirementstoreceiveapositiveskillsassessment.

YouneedtobeawarethatsuccessfullymigratingtoAustraliaasanIT（Computing）ProfessionalisnoguaranteeofemploymentasanIT（Computing）ProfessionalinAustralia.

TheACSisnotabletogiveprospectivemigrantsadviceonanyaspectofthemigrationprocessexceptskillsassessment.Allmigration-relatedqueriesmustbedirectedtotheDepartmentofImmigrationandCitizenship.Informationandcontactdetailsareavailableatwww.immi.gov.au.

TheACSwill:

∙processyourassessmentfeeandissueyouwithareceipt;

∙assessyourapplicationagainstitsrequirements;

∙requestanyadditionalinformationrequired;

∙finaliseyourassessmentonthebasisoftheevidenceprovided;and

∙provideyouwiththeresultsofyourmigrationskillsassessmentstatingwhetheryouhavebeenfoundsuitableorunsuitableasanIT（Computing）ProfessionalforthepurposesofmigrationtoAustraliaundertheGeneralSkilledMigrationcategories.

Theresultofyourassessmentwillbesenttoyouoryourauthorisedagentbymailandwillnotbereleasedtoanyotherpartypriortothis.

Record-keepingandprivacy

Recordsofallmigrationskillsassessmentprocedureswillbekeptforaperiodofatleastseven（7）years.Recordskeptwillincludecorrespondencewithallapplicantsandprospectiveapplicants.Summaryinformationofeachapplicationwillbekeptonacomputeriseddatabaseforeaseofaccessandforgenerationofstatistics.

Personalinformationiscollectedonlyforthepurposeofassessingyourapplication,includingforthepurposeoftheverificationofinformationfromcontactsprovidedbyyou.InformationwillbetreatedasstrictlyconfidentialwithintheACSandwillonlybereleasedtotheACSofficersdirectlyinvolvedwithyourassessment.InformationmaybereleasedtotheDepartmentofImmigrationandCitizenshiportootherpartiesifrequiredbylaw.
