Tobring“greencampus”toitsfullplay,effectivemeasuresshouldbetaken.Ononehand,universitieshavetheresponsibilitiestoworkouteffectivegreenregulationsincampus.Therefore,studentswhodamagethecampusenvironmentwillbeseverelypunished.Ontheotherhand,studentsaresupposedtoenhancetheawarenessofcreatingagreencampussothattheywillinstinctivelyremembertoturnoffthetapwhentheyfinishwashing.Onlybytheco-effortsofbothuniversitiesandstudentscould“greencampus”worksmoothlyandbringbenefittopeople’swell-beings.

Nowadays,alotofmuseumsopentothepublicforfree.Itistruethatpeoplecangainknowledgefrommanywayslikelibraries,internet,andothersources,however,thereisalsomuchinformationthatpeoplecannotgetfromtheaboveways.Freeadmissionmuseumssupplymorechancesforthepublictoacquireknowledgethatcannotbeeasilyaccessed.Inthisway,peoplecangetexposedtomorethingsabouthistory,art,scienceandsoon.

Althoughthiskindofpolicyhasbroughtmuchconveniencetothepublic,ithasalsocausedsomeproblems.Forexample,beggarsandshabby-dressedpeoplemayenterthemuseumsandcausebadreputationamongthepublic;alongwiththeincreasingnumberofpeoplegettingintomuseums,therewillbenoenoughserviceestablishmentstomeettherequirements.Besides,underthepolicyoffreeadmission,theculturalrelicsdisplayedtheremaybeinevitablybrokenordamagedbythecrowds.Moreover,thecrowdsinthemuseumsmayalsocausesecurityproblems.

Inmyopinion,freeadmissionisagoodpolicyforthepublic,anditbringsthepublicmuchconvenience.But,weshouldalsotakepossiblemeasurestoprotecttheculturalrelicsandmaintaintheorderofspot.Besides,wecanalsotakethepolicyofgivingfreeadmissionfirsttochildren,thentotheretiredperson,andlasttothepublic.Ithink,thismayhelptosolvetheproblems.

4.（08年12月）Limittheuseofdisposableplasticbags

Inmodernworld,disposableplasticbagsarewidelyusedinChina.Itisobviousthatpeopleareusedtoitforshopping.Lifewithoutthemseemsunimaginableformostofus.

However, disposable plastic bags do bring severe damage to our environment. Firstandforemost,theyareoftenabandonedeverywhere.Itcannotbedegraded（降解）andthuswillhaveagreateffectontheenvironment.Finally,thepollutionbroughtbyplasticbagsthreatensthespecieslife.

To sum up, it is meaningful to limit the use of disposable plastic. It’sofgreatsignificancethatthegovernmenthasbannedtheuseofdisposableplasticbagsofficially,andpeoplewillbechargedfortheuseofsuchbags.Theactioniseffectivelyreducingtheconsumptionofbagtoagreatextent,andtherefore,ourenvironmentcanbeprotected.

Everyone in the society should contribute some effort to the improvement. Wearesupposedto protect our earth and living environment to make a better life.

Moreandmorekindsofrecreationalactivitiesappearinourlifewiththefastdevelopmentofthesociety.Ithinktherecreationalactivitieshavemanygoodways,andIhavemanyreasonstosupportthat.

First,collegestudentswillhavemoreopportunitiestomakefriends.Second,theycanhavearestintherecreationalactivities,whichisbeneficialnotonlyfortheirhealth,butalsofortheircommunicationskills.What’smore,therecreationalactivity,thewaytoofferrelaxationsafteralaboriousday,canhelppeopletorelievestress.Forexample,IoftengowithmyroommatestoplaybasketballwhichIlikemost.Afterthegame,Ialwaysfeelfullofvigor.

Nevertheless,therearealsosomebadsidesofrecreationalactivities.Ifwereduceourselvestothem,theymayaffectourstudies,andthusbringharmtous.

AsfarasI’mconcerned,recreationalactivitiescanexertbothpositiveandnegativeinfluenceonpeople.Onlyifwemakerightwaystoattendcantheydogoodtous.

Withtheremarkableeducationalreformandtheincreasingstudents’demands,universitiesstrivetoofferavarietyofelectivecoursesforstudentstochoose.Somehigherinstitutesprovidetheoptionalcoursesofcross-culturalcommunication,andsomecollegeshavecomputerscienceonthecurriculumofelectivecourses

Therearenumerousreasonsforstudents’selectionofthecourses,andIwouldliketoexploreafewofthemostsignificantoneshere.Inthefirstplace,studentstendtotakepersonalinterestintoconsiderationwhentheyoptfor（选择，决定）anelectivecourse.Possibly,that’swhycross-culturalcommunicationcoursesaresoprevailing（受欢迎的）oncampus.Additionally,someundergraduatesattendcertainoptionalcoursesfortheircareerprospectsandfuturedevelopment.Lastbutnotleast,tomakeupfortheirrequiredcreditsisanotheruniversalreasonasstudentsselectacourseatrandom.

AsfarasIamconcerned,pickingupanelectivecourse,Iaminclinedtogiveprioritytopersonalinterest.IamtakinggeographicresearchanddiscoverycourseinthatI’vebeengreatlykeenonsciencesinceIwasakid.

The Spring Festival GalahasbeenheldinChinaforovertwodecades,whichseemstohavebeenanindispensablecompanyduringthetraditionalNewYear’sEveformanypeople.Theyhavebeenaccustomedtowatchthesinginganddancingwiththeirfamilies,discussingtheperformanceandchattingwitheachother.TheyregardtheGalabeneficialfortheytakeitasagoodwayforfamilyunion.

　　However, an increasing number of people have voiced different opinions towards it, asmore diverse life styles have emerged nowadays. Some prefer to go to afancyrestaurantto enjoy a gourmet meal; some intend to go on a vacation to an incredibly exoticdestination for relaxation; others may have even more post-modern notions,like hiking, or cycling for entirely new different experiences, forgetting all about the SpringFestival. 

To me, the Galais supposed to be here to stay. It may not remain amustforallpeople,butit can bring us a strong sense of festivity and serve as analternativeamongthevarietyofholidayactivities.Besides,withsuchagathering,familymemberswillhaveaperfectopportunitytoenjoymorefunandhappiness,fornowadaysmostpeoplearesoengagedintheirdailyworkthattheycanrarelyfindanysparetimewiththeirfamilies.

Asthesummerholidayisapproaching,theStudentUnionwillorganizeavoluntaryprogramandisnowrecruitingvolunteers.

Thisprogramwillfocusonteachingfarmers’childrenatYuCaiSchool.Itaimstoinstillconfidence,independenceandoptimismintothepupilandtohelpthemenhancetheirEnglish.Throughparticipatingintheactivity,volunteerscangainteachingexperience.

Volunteerswillgivelessonsinthemorningandorganizeextra-curriculumactivitiesintheafternoon.TheprogramwillstartonJuly.10andendonJul.30.TheStudentUnionwillarrangebusestotakeyoutotheschool.
