TheFoxandtheGoat(狐狸和山羊)
Onedayafoxfellintoawell.一天,一只狐狸失足掉到了井里。
Hetriedtogetoutofit,buthecouldn’t.不论他如何挣扎仍没法爬上来。
Justthenagoatcametothewell.就在当时,一只山羊来到井边。
Shewantedtodrinksomewater.她想喝水。
Shelookeddownintothewellandsawafoxthere.她往井里看发现狐狸在井里。
Thegoatsaidtothefox,“Isthewatergood?
”便问狐狸:
“井水好不好喝?
”
“Yes,thewaterisgood,”saidthefox.狐狸说:
“是的,井里的水很好喝。
”
Thegoatjumpedintothewellanddrankmuchwaterassheliked.山羊便不假思索地跳了下去,咕咚咕咚痛饮。
Afterawhilethegoatsaidtothefox,“Howcanwegetoutofthiswell?
”一会儿之后,山羊问狐狸:
“我们怎么从井里出去?
”
Thefoxsaid,“Well!
Putyourfeetonthewall.狐狸说:
“你用前脚扒在井墙上。
ThenIjumpupfromyourback.我从你后背跳上井去,
AfterthatIwillhelpyouout.”再拉你上来,我们就都得救了。
“Oh,it’safineidea,”saidthegoat.“嗯,真的是个好办法。
”山羊说。
Andthefoxgotuponherbackandjumpedoutofthewell.狐狸跳到他的背上,再用力一跳,跳出了井口。
“Nowhelpmeout,please!
”saidthegoat.“现在请把我救出去吧!
”山羊说。
“Whydidn’tyouthinkofhowtogetout,beforeyoujumpedin?
”Thefoxsaid,thenranaway.
“为什么你在跳进井里之前没有想着如何上来呢?
”狐狸说完就跑开了。

Thereisafrog.有一只青蛙住在井底,
Helivesinawellandhenevergoesoutofthewell.他从来没有去过井外面。
Hethinkstheskyisasbigasthemouthofthewell.他以为天空就和井口一样大。
Onedayacrowcomestothewell.一天,一只乌鸦飞到井边,
Heseesthefrogandsays,“Frog,let’shaveatalk.”看见青蛙,就对它说:
“青蛙,咱们聊聊吧。
”
Thenthefrogasks,“Whereareyoufrom?
”青蛙就问他:
“你从哪里来?
”
“Iflyfromthesky,”thecrowsays.“我从天上上来。
”
Thefrogfeelssurprisedandsays,青蛙惊讶了,就说:
“Theskyisonlyasbigasthemouthofthewell.“天空就只有这井口这么大,
Howdoyouflyfromthesky?
”你怎么会从天上飞老呢?
”
Thecrowsays,“Theskyisverybig.乌鸦说:
“天空很大。
Youalwaysstayinthewell,soyoudon’tknowtheworldisbig.”只不过你一直呆在井里,所有不知道世界很大。
”
Thefrogsays,“Idon’tbelieve.”青蛙说:
“我不相信。
”
Butthecrowsays,“Youcancomeoutandhavealookbyyourself.”乌鸦说:
“你可以出来,自己看看嘛。
”
Sothefrogcomesoutfromthewell.于是青蛙来到井外。
Heisverysurprised.Howbigtheworldis!
他十分惊讶,原来世界这么大!

"Iwillfindsomeexcusetocatchit."“我要找一个借口吃掉他。

"于是,他恶狠狠地对小羊说:
“你怎么敢搅浑浊了我的水?
”
"No,master,"saidthelamb."我没有,先生,”小羊回答说,

”
"Well,then,"saidthewolf.“那么,”狼见此计不成,又说道,

"“你去年的今天为什么说我的坏话?
”
"Itwasimpossible,"saidthelamb.“不可能,”小羊说,
"Iamonlysixmonthsold."“我现在才只有六个月大。
”
"Idon"tcare,"shoutedthewolf.“我不管,”狼说,
"Ifitwasnotyou,itmustbeyourfather."“如果不是你,就是你的爸爸。
”
Afterthatherushedatthepoorlittlelambandateitup.说完,他就冲向小山羊,把他吃掉了。

当一个坏人想为自己所做的坏事寻找借口时,他不会在乎这个借口是否恰当。
Bellingthecat老鼠开会
Longago,therewasabigcatinthehouse.从前,一所房子里面有一只大猫,
Hecaughtmanymicewhiletheywerestealingfood.他抓住了很多偷东西的老鼠。
Onedaythemicehadameetingtotalkaboutthewaytodealwiththeircommonenemy.一天,老鼠在一起开会商量如何对付他们共同的敌人。
Somesaidthis,andsomesaidthat.会上大家各有各的主张
Atlastayoungmousesaidthathehadagoodidea.最后,一只小老鼠站出来说他有一个好主意。
"Wecouldtieabellaroundtheneckofthecat.我们可以在猫的脖子上绑一个铃铛,
Thenwhenhecomesnear,那么如果他来到附近,
wecanhearthesoundofthebell,andrunaway."我们听到铃声就可以马上逃跑。
”
Everyonewasagreewiththatidea,大家都赞同这个建议,
butanoldwisemousesaid,这时一只聪明的老耗子站出来说:
"Thatisagoodidea,butwhowilltiethebelltothecat?
"“这的确是个绝妙的主意,但是谁来给猫的脖子上绑铃铛呢?
”

"I’mjustfeelingthirsty,"hethought.Sohebackedupafewpaces,gotarunningstart,jumpedup,butcouldnotreachthegrapes.
Hewalkedback.One,two,three,hejumpedupagain,butstill,hemissedthegrapes.
Thefoxtriedagainandagain,butneversucceeded.Atlasthedecidedtogiveitup.
Hewalkedawaywithhisnoseintheair,andsaid“Iamsuretheyaresour.”
●一个炎热的夏日,狐狸走过一个果园,他停在一大串熟透而多汁的葡萄前。
●狐狸想:
“我正口渴呢。
”于是他后退了几步,向前一冲,跳起来,却无法够到葡萄。
●狐狸后退又试。
一次,两次,三次,但是都没有得到葡萄。
●狐狸试了一次又一次,都没有成功。
最后,他决定放弃,他昂起头,边走边说:
“葡萄还没有成熟,我敢肯定它是酸的。
”
寓意:
在经历了许多尝试而不能获得成功的时候,有些人往往故意轻视成功,以此来寻求心理安慰。

Oneday,amonkeyrideshisbikeneartheriver.Thistimeheseesalionunderatree.Thelionrunsathim.Heisafraidandfallsintotheriver.Hecan’tswim.Heshouts.Therabbithearshim.Hejumpsintotheriver.Therabbitswimstothemonkey,buthecan’thelphim.Luckily,anelephantcomesalong.Heisverystrong.Hehelpstherabbitandmonkey.Threefriendsareveryhappy.Theygototheelephant’shome.Then,threeofthembecomegoodfriends.
三个好朋友
一天,一只猴子在河边骑车。
这时他看见树下有一只狮子,狮子向他跑来。
他非常的害怕,掉进河里。
他不会游泳,大叫起来。
兔子听见了,跳进水里,但他却没有办法救猴子。
幸运的是,一只大象过来了。
大象非常强壮,救出了兔子和猴子。
他们来到大象的家,在那里吃了一顿大餐。
从此他们成了好朋友。
