PP3中AnalyticalWriting的范文(完全版)

所有已经注册GREgeneral考试的gters在注册后大约一个月后,可以收到ETS邮寄过来的免费的POWERPREP3.0(abbr.PP3)光盘,光盘中的PP3软件可以提供机考的模拟和作文的模拟,其中含有关于AnalyticalWriting的介绍和范文。

所以强烈建议大家使用这个软件来进行机考作文的模拟练习。

从2003年7月开始,ETS决定在中国内地、中国港台地区和韩国四地举行的GRE考试将改为机考与笔试相结合。

改用新方法后,GRE作文部分将实行机考,语文和数学部分为笔试。

所以2003-2004年度的GREAnalyticalWriting考试将改为在计算机上进行。

考点设在ETS在中国的各个CBT(Computer-basedCenter)计算机考试中心。

为方便广大gters准备作文,蝎子把PP3中提供的AnalyticalWriting的范文整理出来,以便大家浏览和下载。

完全版列出了分数为6分~1分的文章。

由于这些文章是ETS从考生的作文中挑出来的,大家可以看到这些文章中有文字错误,甚至有的作文有标题。

希望大家看看这些作文好在那里,对自己有什么帮助,而不是拿去通篇背诵,因为没有必要。

本文第一部分是介绍AnalyticalWriting(即过去的WritingAssessment)的内容以及两类文章(ISSUE和ARGUMENT)的评分标准。

第二部分是ISSUE的范文(3TOPICS),每档分数各有一篇范文,更可贵的是每篇文章后面有相应的评语(COMMENTARY)。

第三部分是ARGUMENT的范文(3TOPICS),每档分数各有一篇范文,也有相应的评语。

ETS对于AnalyticalWriting考试提供的范文和评分标准和过去提供的并没有变化。

DescriptionoftheWritingAssessment

TheGREWritingAssessmentconsistsoftwoanalyticalwritingtasks:

 

*a45-minute"PresentYourPerspectiveonanIssue"task

*a30-minute"AnalyzeanArgument"task

Youwillbegivenachoicebetweentwo"Issue"topics.Eachstatesanopiniononanissueofbroadinterestandasksyoutodiscusstheissuefromanyperspective(s)youwish,solongasyouproviderelevantreasonsandexamplestoexplainandsupportyourviews.

Youwillnothaveachoiceof"Argument"topics.Instead,thecomputerwillpresentanargumentforyoutoanalyze.The"Argument"taskpresentsadifferentchallengefromthatofthe"Issue"task:

itrequiresyoutocritiqueagivenargumentbydiscussinghowwellreasonedyoufindit.Youwillneedtoconsiderthelogicalsoundnessoftheargumentratherthantoagreeordisagreewiththepositionitpresents.

Thus,thetwotasksarecomplementaryinthatonerequiresyoutoconstructyourownargumentbytakingapositionandprovidingevidencesupportingyourviewsontheissue,whereastheotherrequiresyoutocritiquesomeoneelse'sargumentbyassessingitsclaimsandevaluatingtheevidenceitprovides.

 

HowtheTestIsScored

Eachessayisholisticallyscoredona6-pointscaleaccordingtothecriteriaindicatedintheGREWritingAssessmentscoringguides.Holisticscoringmeansthateachessayisjudgedasawhole:

readersdonotseparatetheessayintocomponentpartsandawardacertainnumberofpointsforaparticularcriterionorelementsuchasorganization,sentencestructure,orlanguage.Instead,readersassignscoresbasedonthetotalqualityoftheessay,consideringallofitscharacteristicsinanintegratedway.Excellentorganizationorpoororganization,forexample,willbepartofthereaders'overallimpressionofthewritingandwillthereforecontributetothescore,butorganization,asadistinctfeature,hasnospecificweight.

GREreadersarecollegeanduniversityfacultyexperiencedinteachingwritingorwriting-intensivecourses.AllGREreadershaveundergonecarefultraining,passedstringentGREqualifyingtests,anddemonstratedthattheyareabletomaintainahighdegreeofscoringaccuracy.

Toensurefairnessandobjectivityinscoring
