Theteam'sresearchrevealedthatboredomrosewithinandacrossgradesformuchofthelastdecade.“Iwantedtofindoutwhenadolescentsaremostlikelytoexperienceboredom,”saidWeybright.

Whencomparedacrossgrades,boredomappearstopeakin10thgradeforboysandin8thgradeforgirls.However,lookingacrosstimewithgradelevelscombined,boys'boredomlevelsrose1.6percenteveryearonaverage,whilegirls'boredomlevelsroseby1.7percentonaverage.Ineverygrade,girls'boredomlevelsshowedsteeperrisesthanboys.
