The Ocean View Hotel is just a new Hotel, and it doesnt have a well functioning Reservation System, the newly designed reservation system is to manage the Reservation system for the Ocean View Hotels.The main objective of the new system is to give the customers an easy way of making a re

The new system is more computerized and well organized, well modified from the old system that is currently in the Hotel.This system would be managed by the Reservation Office that works with the Reservation Details.This new system would automatically replace the old and less

6、 functioning system that was formally used in the Hotel. The new system would also be faster for the customers to make a Reservation in the Ocean View Hotels.The Current Reservation System The Old Hotels Reservation System was not a very good functioning system and it wasnt easy for the customers to

7、 make Hotel Reservation, The Old Hotel Reservation System was difficult for customers to make Hotel Reservation, in this system the Customer have to be present in person in the hotel to make Reservations his or her self and the information is been recorded on a paper file.The system Reservation work

8、s, when the customer comes to the Hotel and gives his Reservation details (DETALS LIKE-NAME, CHECK IN DATE, CHECK OUT DATE, TYPE OF ROOM, ETC) to the Reservation personnel or officer and then makes his or her Room Reservations, and have to come back when he or she wants to check for a formal check i

9、n.Proposed Reservation SystemThe new proposed reservation system would be done totally online without the customer going to the Hotel in person to secure a reservation. Online Reservation SystemThe new reservation system would be more advanced and more effective in a way the customer can make their

10、reservation anywhere in the world with a computer and internet connection.Online Reservation SystemThis proposed system to be developed, this system to be developed was chosen because of the rising number of internet users, the world is getting globalised, and everybody is going online. We choose to

11、 use the online reservation system because nowadays people find it more comfortable to use an online system for making a hotel reservationFor this system to function the user or customer has to be logged online with the internet to be able to make a reservation with this system.The second step in ma

12、king in making a reservation in this system would be to visit the Hotels web site at For a new customer he or she would be able to see the various activities offered by the hotel activities like, karaoke, cinema, and facilities like internet connections, swimming pools, restaurants etc And also the

13、customer could access details like prices of rooms and be able to see pictures and videos of the hotels before they make reservation, and see the various rooms provided like a suit, or a single room, or a double room or deluxe room etcAnd if the customer is still interested in making a reservation h

14、e would continue and click on the RESERVATION SECTION At the RESRVATION SECTION you would be able to make your reservation, as a new customer you would be asked to fill in the reservation form, in this form you would have details like a) Customers Nameb) Check In Datec) Check Out Dated) Type Of Room

15、e) Phone Number After filling out the reservation form the system would confirm the customers reservation and a printable document to show proof of reservation.After reservation the system would be automatically updated that a reservation has been made under the customers name so the receptionist co

16、uld access this information when the customer comes to check into the hotel.When the reservation is made the system would automatically provide a pin number to enable them access reservation easily.If for an old customer he wouldnt be asked personal details like name or mobile phone number, he or sh

17、e just have to log in with the pin number given to him or her and just feel in because the first time he made a reservation with the hotel his details was collected and stored in the hotels database a) Check in Date b) Check out Date c) Type Of RoomAfter feeling in the form the reservation would be

18、made automatically and an email notification would be sent to the customers email to show proof of reservation or to show reservation has be confirmed would be available for the customer to print out or he or she instead of printing would just give there pin number to the receptionist and the recept

19、ionist could check if a reservation was made.What are the benefits of online booking?(1) Order is completely free; (2) Second, to enjoy lower prices than the hotel front desk; (3) Priority setting to the room to find room and avoid delay your trip.Problems faced by the current systemThe first possib

Loss of clients or customers-This is a major problem for the hotel because of lack of customers, the current system is more difficult, stressful, and time wasteful for customers to secure a reservation in the hotel.Not every customer would want

Customers in the hotel would be mostly from around the same community of the hotel outsider wouldnt be able to come and make a reservation before time.This would cause the hotel a lot of

22、money, because they would be having fewer customers come to the hotel and loss of money means possible shut down in the future.And sometimes customers can also get to the hotel and find out there are no more available rooms and would be very angry and wouldnt want to make reservation in this hotel a

23、nymore.2. Insecurity Information insecurity is a problem for the current system the manual system is not a secure way for information keeping. The reservations details made by customers are recorded and stored in a paper file. This is a very unsecure means of keeping information like this, when negl

24、igence happens or accidents like fire there would be no information left all the information stored would be lost forever and also this file or information could be misplaced, lost or damaged. And also the information could be easily accessed by anyone because the information security procedure is n

25、ot well secured.3. Canceling reservationCancelling of reservation is very common in hotel, after making a reservation a customer can change his or her mind or make a re-schedule or cancel his or her reservation, but this can also be possible but very difficult for the customer to come back again or

26、re-schedule his or her room reservation or cancel their reservation, this is also another problem that would be faced by the current system.Objectives of the new proposed system (How the new system can help solve these problems)1. Loss of guest or clients In the new proposed system it would be easie

27、r for the client or customer to make a reservation with the hotel. It would be a lot easier for the customers to secure a reservation since the new system would provide both online reservation and telephone reservation system.The customer would find it more easy and comfortable to make a reservation

28、 anywhere and anytime at anyplace. The new system doesnt need the personal presence of the customer to make a reservation. The customer could easily go online and make a reservation with the hotel.And if the customer is not within the reach of a computer or internet he could also make the reservatio

29、n through the use of a mobile phone anywhere and anytime suitable for the customer by simply calling the reservation desk and make his or her reservation with the hotel This is a very comfortable system doesnt involve any travelling to and fro from the hotel and could possible attract more people to

30、 make reservation in anywhere in the world, this system would raise the hotel more customers and more financial profit.2. InsecurityInsecurity would be a thing of the past with the new proposed system; the customers information would be more secure on a database and could be easily accessed by autho

31、rized personnel who have permission to access this kind of details like the reservation officer and receptionist and this details could not be erased or even affected by fire or natural disasters because since its online it could be easily accessed online anywhere and anytime and the information cou
