ShadowpuppetryisaChinesefolkartknownforitsuniquestorytellingtechniquesviafiguresmadefromcowhide（牛皮）andalit-upbackdrop（幕布）thatcreatestheillusion（幻觉）ofmovingimages,whichcandatebackmorethan2,000yearstotheHanDynasty（206BC-220AD）.However,asfilmsandTVseriesgraduallybecamemajorentertainmentoptionssincethelate1980s,shadowplaysdeclined,withmanyperformersshiftingjobs.
