1.1GeneralIntroduction

ZTEisaleadingglobalsolutionproviderinthefieldoftelecommunications.ZTEoffersthewidestrangeoftelecommunicationproductsandcomprehensivenetworksolutionstoitscustomersaroundtheglobe.WiththerapidgrowthofZTE’smarketacrosstheworld,customerstrainingdemandsandrequirementshavebeenincreasingconstantly

Inordertokeepupwiththeemergingtrainingchallenges,ZTEUniversitycameintoexistenceinJuly2003.ItisoneofthebiggesttrainingcentersfoundedbyanenterpriseinChina.ZTEUniversityiscapableenoughtoprovidespecializedtechnicaltrainingsinvariousfieldsoftelecommunication.Customers’satisfactionistheprimeobjectivewhichisachievedthroughprofessionallydesignedcoursesandtheirhighqualitydelivery.ZTEUniversityaimstobecomeatoprankingenterpriseuniversity.

ZTEUniversityislocatedatDameishaBeach,Shenzhen,P.R.China.Withanareaof50thousandsquaremeters,thecampussitsatthefootofabeautifulmountain,facingtheSouthChinaSea.Convergingtrainingandentertainment,ZTEUniversitytriestoprovideacomfortableandpeacefulenvironmenttoitstrainees.

Thereare28multimediaclassroomsandpracticesimulationlaboratoriesinZTEUniversity.Inadditiontotheoreticallearning,traineescanusethesepracticesimulationlabstoimprovetheirpracticalskills.

3.1CourseSystem

ZTEprovideshighqualitytrainingcourseforallkindsofjobpositions,suchasTechnicalManager,PlanningandOptimizationEngineers,InstallationandCommissioningEngineers,O&MEngineers,NetworkSupervisionEngineers,etc.

ZTEhasdevelopedatwo-leveltrainingsystemwithFactoryTrainingcourseatZTEUniversityoritsOverseasRegionalTrainingCenters,andLocalTrainingatcustomers’premises.

Customizedtrainingcoursescanbeprovidedbasedonclienttrainingdemandanalysis.

4LocalTraining

Localtrainingreferstothetrainingdeliveredatalocationdeemedconvenientandeconomicaltocustomerswhenalargenumberofcustomeremployeesrequiretraining.Suchtrainingaimsatprovidingthetraineeswiththemostpertinentinformationandproblemsolvingtechniques.Forthelimitationofthepracticalcondition,thiskindoftrainingpaysmoreattentiononon-jobworkingskills.ThishasbeenpartofZTEoffertocustomerstrainingrequirements.ZTEalsostressuponthecontinuousself-traininginitiativeundertakenbycustomerspersonnel.

Trainingoutcome:

Thiskindoftrainingfocusesontechnicianandengineerbyprovidingthemthechancetoimproveeithertheirtheoreticalorpracticalabilityoftheroutinejobs.

5FactoryTraining

OverseatrainingisakindofsystematicapproachandfurtherstudyingofZTE.ThisleveloftrainingisconductedatZTEUniversityoritsOverseasRegionalTrainingCenters,wherethetraineewhoarenotonlyabletomasterthehighlightpointsinthetrainingprogramorcourses,butalsotogrowintheircompetenceandthesenseofresponsibilitytowardsperformingtheirrolesinacompletenetworktasksaswell.

Thiskindoftrainingfocusesonmanagerandengineer.ThelessonsspecificallydesignedforcustomerscouldhelptheseseniormanagerorengineertomasterthewholenetworkcharactersandconversanttoalltheoperationofZTEequipments.

Atthislevel,thetrainingcourseincludestheoreticalandpracticalparts,inwhichpracticalpartwillmakeupofatleast50percentofthewholecurriculum.

Trainingoutcome:

Afterthetraining,thestudentswillhavethoroughknowledgeofequipmentstructure,equipmentinstallation,networkdebugging,datacreation,andtroubleshooting.GoodEnglishproficiencyisrequiredforstudentswhowillattendthetraining.

5.1TrainingInstructors

Ateamofskilled,innovative,motivatedandprofessionaltraininginstructorsisveryimportantforcompetenttraining.ZTEUniversitykeepsimprovingitsinstructors’skillsbygivingthemupdatedtrainings.ZTEUniversityhasdevelopedamaturemanagementsystemforinstructors’certification.Therearemorethan150professionaltrainersinZTEUniversity.Allofthemhavegotbachelorsdegrees,and45%ofthemholdmastersordoctoratedegrees.Alltrainershavecomprehensiveandrelatedprofessionalknowledgeaswellaspracticalexperience.Tomeetthedemandsforinternationaltrainings,80%areabletodelivertrainingsinEnglish.Besides,thereare300part-timetrainerswhoareeitherprofessionalengineersorfromR&Dfield.

5.2TrainingMethods

Consideringthecharacteristicsoftechnicalandprofessionaltrainings,trainingmethodsaredesignedinawaythatallaspectsincludingpracticalimplementationsandapplicationsofthecoursesarecovered.Thesemethodsarecoveredbyusinglatesttechniquesthatinclude:

5.3Hands-onEquipment

PracticalcoursesarenormallyconductedinsimulationpracticeroomsatZTEUniversityorZTEOverseasRegionalTrainingCenters.

Iftrainingistobeconductedoncustomers’premise,necessaryequipmentsshouldbeprovidedbycustomers.

5.4TrainingLanguage

ThestandardtraininglanguageisEnglish.OnPurchaser’srequirements,somecoursescanbedeliveredinFrench,Arabic,Russian,etc.

5.5TrainingDocumentation

ZTEprovidesEnglishtrainingdocumentationtotrainees.

5.6TrainingApplicationandDeliveryProcedure

CustomersshouldkindlyapplytrainingapplicationtoZTEbranchoffice（orotherequivalentorganization）before45dayssoasZTEUniversitycouldplanandpreparethetrainingcourseforcustomersmoresufficient.

5.7CustomerCareServices

ZTEUniversityprovidescomfortableboardingandlodgingfacilities,Muslim/westernfoodmeetingdifferenttasteandreligiouspreferenceoftrainees.TeachingAssistantsareinchargeofcustomercareservices.Tosolveanyproblemofthetraineesandensurethateverytraineefeelsathome,traineesarefrequentlyaskedtogivefeedbackregardingcustomercareservicesandthatfeedbackisalwayshighlyconsidered.
