Yorkshire,Englandwasthesettingfortwogreatnovels(小说)ofthe19thcentury.ThesewereCharlotteBronte'sJaneEyreandEmilyBronte'sWutheringHeights.Theyoungestsister,Anne,wasalsoagiftednovelist,andherbookshavethesameextraordinaryqualityashersisters'.

TheirfatherwasPatrickBronte,borninIreland.Hemovedwithhiswife,MariaBronte,andtheirsixsmallchildrentoHaworthinYorkshirein1820.Soonafter,Mrs.Bronteandthetwoeldestchildrendied,leavingthefathertocarefortheremainingthreegirlsandaboy.

Charlottewasbornin1816,Emilywasbornin1818andAnnein1820.TheirbrotherBranwellwasbornin1817.Lefttothemselves,thechildrenwroteandtoldstoriesandwalkedoverthehills.Theygrewuplargelyselfeducated.Branwellshowedagreatinterestindrawing.Thegirlsweredeterminedtoearnmoneyforhisarteducation.Theytookpositionsasteachersortaughtchildrenintheirhomes.

Aschildrentheyhadallwrittenmanystories.Charlotte,asayounggirl,alonewrote22books,eachwith60to100pagesofsmallhandwriting.Therefore,theyturnedtowritingforincome.By1847,CharlottehadwrittenTheProfessor;Emily,WutheringHeights;andAnne,AgnesGrey.AftermuchdifficultyAnneandEmilyfoundapublisher(出版商),buttherewasnointerestshowninCharlotte'sbook(Itwasnotpublisheduntil1859).However,onepublisherexpressedaninterestinseeingmoreofherworks.JaneEyrewasalreadystarted,andshehurriedlyfinishedit.Itwasacceptedatonce;thuseachofthesistershadabookpublishedin1847.

ThestudyshowsthatlevelsofHBetaHSD1tendtobehigherinpeoplehavingunhealthybodyfataroundthehipsandbelly.Thisistypicalofoverweightpeoplewhose"apple-shaped"bodiesputthematgreaterriskofheartdiseaseanddiabetes(糖尿病),theDailyMailreports.Onthecontrary,lowerleveloftheproteinwaslinkedtohealthierfat,whichtendstobefoundaroundthehips--typicallyinpear-shapedpeople.

Anappleshapereferstopeople,especiallywomen,whohavefullbreastsandwhosefatisgenerallystoredinthemidsectionofthebodies.Ontheotherhand,pearshapedpeoplehaveahipsizethatisalittlelargerthantheirbreastsize.Thefattendstobestoredaroundthehips.
