INTRODUCTION
ThissectionofIEC870-6isoneoftheIEC870-6seriesdefiningfunctionalprofilestobeusedintelecommunicationnetworksforelectricpowersystems.ItislargelybasedonexistingISO/IECInternationalStandardsandInternationalStandardizedProfiles(ISP).
ThenotionofFunctionalProfilesisfundamentalintheorganizationofIEC870-6.AdescriptionofFunctionalProfiles,theirclassificationschemeandthemannerofdefiningthemarelaiddowninIEC870-6-1.
ThisprofileforTelecontrolApplicationServiceElement(TASE.2,alsoknownasInter-ControlCentreCommunicationsProtocol,ICCP)isanApplication-classProfileprovidingcommunicationscapabilitiestoControlCentreapplications.TheTASE.2intheApplicationLayerisspecifiedinthefutureIEC870-6-503.ThepresentstandardrefinestheApplicationLayerprotocoltomeetinteroperabilityrequirementsandspecifiesrequirementsonthePresentationandSessionLayerssupportforTASE.2.TASE.2operatesinaconnectionmode,sothisA-profileneedstointerfacetoaTransport-classprofileoftheT-profilevariety.
SincetheTASE.2isanMMS-basedprotocol,thisFunctionalProfile(FP)isbasedonMMSprofiles.IntheOSIInternationalStandardizedProfiletaxonomythereisacategoryforMMSA-profiles.ThepresentstandardmakesfrequentuseoftheAMM11profile.
1Scope
ThissectionofIEC870-6isaFunctionalProfile(FP)anddefinestheprovisionoftheTASE.2communicationsservicesbetweentwoControlCentreEndSystems.ItissupportedbytheTransportServicesimplementedinaccordancewithTransport-profilesdefinedforthetypeofnetworkthatinterconnectstheControlCentreEndSystems.Thisisdemonstratedinfigure 1.

ThisFPalsodefinestheprovisionoftheOSIConnection-modePresentationandSessionServicesbetweentheEndSystems.
DISP14226specifiestheAMM11profilesforMMS.ThepartsofISP14226thatcovertheprofilethatareusedasabasisforthisFPareISP14226-1andISP14225-2.ThisFPisinalignmentwithISP14226,asfaraspossible,andmaintainsthiscompatibilitybyreference.ThereareTASE.2requirementsinadditiontoISP14226.SuchrequirementsarespecifiedinthisFP.

TheTASE.2ApplicationProfilecanbereferredtoasanTASE.2MMSApplicationProfile.ItshallfollowthesamerulesandregulationsgoverningMMSISPs.RequirementsoftheTASE.2MMSApplicationProfiletosupportTASE.2areseparatedintoUpperLayerRequirements,MMSRequirements,andTASE.2Requirements.
TheISPICSRequirementsListsforTASE.2,MMS,ACSE,PresentationandSessionaregiveninannex A.AnnexAmakesmandatorysomefeaturesthatwereoptionalinISO/IECDISP14226-1andISO/IECDISP14226-2.
ForeachimplementationclaimingconformancetothissectionofIEC870-6anappropriatesetofPICSsshallbemadeavailablestatingsupportornon-supportofeachoptionidentifiedinthissection.
6.1TASE.2requirements
TherearenoTASE.2requirementsbesidesthosespecifiedintheconformancestatementgiveninIEC870-6-503.
6.2MMSRequirements
TheMMSconformancerequirementsarespecifiedinIEC870-6-503.ADataStructureNestingLevelparametervalueofgreaterthan1shallbesupported.
6.3UpperLayersRequirements
UpperlayersrequirementsforTASE.2shallbeasdefinedbyISO/IECDISP14226-1fortheAMM11profile.Inaddition,thePresentationprotocolshallbeabletosupporttheDefaultContextnegotiation,DefaultContextNameandSimplyEncodedDataoptions.
TheTASE.2MMSApplicationProfilerequiresthattherebeamechanismfortheApplicationAssociationperformance/qualityattributestobeconveyedtotheTransport(and,thus,Network)Service.Themechanismemployedisimplementation-defined,buttheTASE.2andTransportprofileimplementatationsmustbecompatible.
Whenanassociationisrequested,ifthereisaPriorityclassagreedforit,thevalueagreedbetweentheControlCentresisgiventotheTransportLayer.EverydataunitthatissentonthisassociationistreatedaccordingtothePriorityclassintheTransportService.Ifnopriorityvalueisagreed,thennoneisexpressedandadefaultvalueisassumed.

ThisannexdescribestheTASE.2,ACSE,PresentationandSessionrequirementsintermsoftableswhichreferencethebasestandardPICSproforma.TheMMSrequirementsarealsodescribedintermsoftableswhichwerederivedfromthebasestandard.Thetablesareintendedtogiveaprecisespecificationofrequirements.Incaseofarbitrationordispute,thisannextakesprecedenceoverclause6.
