1.0Introduction

Insertyourowndescriptionandintroduction.Youmaywishtoincludeyourownrequirementsandspecificstoallowtheinexperiencedreader,contractors,andsuppliersadequateexplanationtounderstandthescopeoftheequipment.Thisistobeutilizedasaguidefortheusertoanswerthemajorityofquestionsinvolvedinspecifyingthe“what”fortheequipment.Addendumsmaybeusedtoroundouttherequirements.

Thefollowinginformationmaybeprovided:

1.1Describewhoproducedthedocument,underwhatauthority,andforwhatpurpose.

1.2Describethecontractualstatusofthedocument.Includeorreferenceasanattachmentthe“legal”paragraphthatcommunicatespurchasingtermsandconditionsinthissection.

1.3Describetherelationshipofthisdocumenttootherdocuments.ThisisimportantforequipmentthatispartofanintegratedprocessorlineandwillhelptheSuppliertounderstandandaskquestionsthatmayotherwisebeoverlooked.

1.4RefertotheEquipmentValidationPlanthatoutlinestheSupplier’sresponsibilitiesisattached.

2.0Overview

Thisdocumentencompassesthenormalrangeofequipmentoperations.Thissectionshouldbeexpandedtoprovideahighleveldescriptionofthesystemexplainingwhyitisrequiredandwhatisrequiredofit.Includethebackground,keyobjectives,andthemainfunctionsandinterfaces.Obviously,technologyimprovementsandnewapplicationsmayrequiredeviationfromthistemplate.

TheUsershouldconsiderincludinginformationonthefollowing:

3.4.1.2TheBMSshallbecapableofgeneratinganaudittrailforalluseractions.Theaudittrailshallincludeusername,date,time,terminalID,useraction,andreasonforaction.

3.4.1.3Thesystemdatashallbesampledandloggedatconfigurablefrequenciesfrom____sec.to______sec.

3.4.1.4TheBMSshallbecapableofsystemschedulingsuchasnightsetback,morningwarm-up,etc.

3.4.2Powerfailure/Recovery

3.4.3“EmergencyStop”

Insertyourspecific“EmergencyStop”(E-Stop)strategyandcommunicationschemehereordeleteifnotapplicable.

3.4.4AlarmsandWarnings

3.4.4.1TheBMSshallincludeanAlarmLog,andshallbecapableofrecordingwhenanalarmconditionstarts,whenthealarmisacknowledged,bywhomthealarmisacknowledged,andwhenthealarmconditionisremoved.

3.4.4.2“CriticalAlarms”-Insertyourspecific“CriticalAlarm”actionschemehere.

3.4.4.3CriticalAlarmsshalltakeactionviainterlock(s)and/oroperatorproceduralresponsetoshuttheequipmentdownandnotifytheoperatorofthecondition(s).Theoperatorshallberequiredtoacknowledgethealarmbeforethealarmcanberesetandthesystemrestarted.Oncethealarmisreset,theoperatormayrestartthesystem.

3.4.4.4“InformationalMessages”shallnotifytheoperatorandtakenofurtheraction.

3.4.4.5TheEquipmentshallhavethefollowingcriticalalarmsandwarnings:

3.4.4.7Changestoalarmsetpointsshallbeincludedintheaudittrail.

3.4.4.8TheBMSshallincludeanalarmlog.

3.4.4.9TheBMSshallbecapableofreceivinghardwired(24VDC,120VDC,contactclosure)alarmsignalsfromothersystems.

3.4.4.10Thealarmsystemshallincludeconfigurableremotenotificationcapabilities.Notificationmaybesetupbygrouporindividualalarms,andtotakeplaceviaelectronicmailorpager.
