Thetrumpetisactuallytheleadingmemberofanentirefamilyofrelatedinstruments.Therearetrumpetsofseveraldifferentsizes,andinseveraldifferentkeys.Therearecornets(短号),bugles(军号),flugelhorns(粗管短号),andanumberofothersthatareallsimilartothetrumpetinthewaytheyaremadeandplayed.

Ithinkmostimmigrantsaretryingtopreservetheirnativelanguageintheirnewcountry,butthisdoesn'thelpverymuchingettingagoodjob.Myauntdidn'tteachKoreantoherchildreninordertohelpthemsucceedintheUS;shedidso,hopefully,tohelpthemestablishaKoreanidentity.Thoughthesecondgenerationisborninthenewcountry,theyoftengetconfusedabouttheiridentity.MycousinstoldmethatwhentheyvisitedKoreaafewyearsago,theyfeltdifferentfromotherKoreans.Theycouldevenfeelitjuststrollingaroundthestreetbecausetheyworedifferentclothes.
