In1842,DickenswenttoAmericaandlecturedinfavorofinternationalcopyright,sothatauthorscouldgetpaidwhentheirbookswerepublishedinanothercountry.By1857,Dickenswasfamousforhiswritingandhehadgainedmanyinternationalfans.HebecameveryrichandwasabletotourAmericaandEuropetotalkabouthisworks.
