AnotherimportantfeatureoflanguageanalysisistheusageofSimileinthewrite-up.Simileisacomparisonmadeofonethingwiththeanother.Example:

“HeranasfastasaCheetahontheground.”Nowhere,themanisbeingcomparedtoafastrunningCheetahbecausethatmanmayberunningtoofast.So,themanwascomparedtoaCheetah,andthusthisiswheresimilecomesin.

iii.Onomatopoeia

Itliterarymeans,“thesoundImake.”WhatIwanttosayisthatOnomatopoeiaiswordswhichgivethefeelofasoundbeingmadelike,“splash,spray,sprinkle,drizzle,bang,etc.”Wecaneasilyfeelthesoundwhenwepronouncethesewords.Forexample,“Hebangedthedoorandleft.”Here,bangedgaveustheindicationthatthedoorgotclosedveryhittinghard.So,suchwordsgiveustheindicationoftheactivitywhichhappensatthatmoment.Wecanvisualizeeasily.

iv.Metaphor

Itisagainoneoftheinterestingfeaturesoflanguageanalysis.Metaphorsarewordswhichdescribeasituationregardingsomethingelse.It’skindofindirectcomparison.Metaphorshowsthatonethingisanotherthing.Example:

Itisacomparisonwhereanon-humanthingisdescribedintermsofhuman.Example:

“Thelastpieceoftheblueberrycheesecake,calledmyname.”So,blueberrycheesecakeisnotahumanbeingwhichiscallingme,butIhavepersonifiedit,andthusitisdescribedasifit’sreallycallingme.ThismeansthatIbadlywanttoeatthattastycake:
