TylerwasborninfectedwithHIV:

hismotherwasalsoinfected.Fromtheverybeginningofhislife,hewasdependentonmedicationstoenablehimtosurvive.Whenhewasfive,hehadatubesurgicallyinsertedinaveininhischest.Thistubewasconnectedtoapump,whichhecarriedinasmallbackpackonhisback.Medicationswerehookeduptothispumpandwerecontinuouslysuppliedthroughthistubetohisbloodstream.Attimes,healsoneededsupplementedoxygentosupporthisbreathing.
