AppreciationtowardsIntervalArchitectsforprovidingthefollowingdescription:

SituatedinatranquilenvironmentofoneofthebestvocationalschoolsinBeijing,theproject

aimsatprovidinganiconicimagetotheinstitutionaswellasredefiningtheuseofanexisting

publicspaceonthecentralsquareofthecampus. 

Initially,theclientwantedtoputonthesquareathemedsculpturewithamonumentaleffectand

scale. Ahugepedestalwasevenalreadybuiltforthesculpturetoputon. Howevertheobvious

problemofthesquareisactuallyaseverelackofeffectivepublicspacethatwouldallowstudents

togatherandcommunicate. Whattheschoolreallyneedsisnotamonumentinthecenterofthe

campus,butahumanisticandfunctionalgatheringspaceforstudentsandaneventspacefor

schoolactivities. 

Therefore,withtheintentiontocreateanefficientpublicspace,weproposedacontinuousself-

foldingbeltstructurethatresemblestheimageofa“rollercoaster”. Thestructurefoldsthree-

dimensionallytocreateaseriesofspacessuchasopengardens,shadedpavilionsand

exhibitioncorridors. Theentirebeltbendsaroundandin-betweentheexistingtreesonthesite

sotheyarewell-preservedandmaximallyutilizedforshading.

Therollercoaster-likestructurepresentsahighlyrecognizableidentitytotheschoolaswellasa

funimagethatwaswidelywelcomedbythestudents.

黄庄职业高中文化广场回廊

项目概念说明：

过山车

该项目位于一所宁静的中学校园的活动广场之上。

旨在为学校提供一个鲜明的可辨识的形

象，重新定义现有公共空间。

最开始客户的设想是在广场上安放一个纪念性的主题雕塑，并且已经为该雕塑搭建好了一个

高台。

然后通过分析，我们认为广场真正缺少的是一个有效的能让学生聚在一起交流的公共

空间。

学校真正需要的不是校园中心的纪念碑，而是一个集人文与功能为一体的集聚性空间，

让学生休憩的同时还能举办一些校园活动。

因此，一个高效的公共空间的方案渐渐浮出水面。

我们提出了一个连续弯折类似“过山车”

的带状形象，通过三维折叠，创造了一系列与环境融合的空间，包括开放式的花园、阴影展

馆和展览甬道等。

整个建筑的弯曲形态，都最大限度地考虑了保留广场现有的树木以及利用

现有树冠投射下的阴影，令建筑建成的伊始，就具有成熟的使用形态。

过山车般的结构，为学校建立了一个有趣的形象，不仅辨识度很高，也非常收学生的欢迎。
